Pros: Both the 300gm and 200gm did seem to keep my horse warm and waterproofing worked okay. Cons: My mare measures a 72, has a sloping shoulder and is narrow. The chest straps were not really long enough, so her shoulders were restricted. The surcingle lengths were quite long even pulled up to the shortest length. The neck piece rubbed off a portion of her mane. So while we got through the winter months okay, I would not purchase again. This blanket didn’t seem to be a good fit for my horse’s body type.

The old man is going to need a little help this year. I bought this blanket because it was reasonably priced and it had the specs I needed. Plus, it was shipped and on the horse within 4 days! When my daughter (a vet student) put it on the horse, she was more than happy-that makes me happy. The fabric was heavier and more durable than blankets we have paid twice as much for. Horses being what they are, will do their best to destroy the blanket so…I will provide a follow up review. So far, two thumbs up! I will purchase more pending the second review.

I bought two of these for my gypsy quarter cross mares. They have kept my horses dry and clean through our crazy California rain. The necks are fitted and don’t fit perfectly but I knew that would be the case because my mares are draft crosses, are thick and drafty. Nice because they don’t shift, blow backwards in the wind, or scrunch back when my horses put their heads through the fence boards. My favorite thing about these are the legstaps. They are adjustable nylon straps with not elastic to stretch and sag over time. All the hardware seem like quality. Happy with these especially for the price.
