This mirror looks good and seems of decent quality. Under “About this item,” right in the first line, its webpage describes it as a “convex mirror in HD glass to increase visibility.” This mirror is not made of glass; it is made from acrylic. I hope that it is just an honest mistake and not an intentional attempt to project to customers the impression that this acrylic mirror is made of glass.Its web page also states that “the weather-resistant design stands up to hot or cold temperatures, rain, or burning sun” and that it can be used indoors or outdoors. I do not find any mention on its web page about this mirror being made with UV-resistant acrylic or coated with an anti-UV layer. Over time, exposure to sun rays will cause the acrylic to degrade and turn yellow. Using it outdoors will cause it to accumulate all types of deposits that need to be regularly cleaned, and since there is no mention that this acrylic mirror surface is coated with an anti-scratch film, its surface will quickly degrade.The edge of the mirror is not sealed. When exposed to water, the reflecting layer of the mirror might get damaged. Even mirrors made of glass get damaged around their edges when they are exposed to water over time.The frame and the bracket are made of plastic, and if they do not have an anti-UV coat, they will quickly degrade when exposed to damaging sun rays.To make a long story short, this convex security mirror should not be used outdoors. Using it indoors should be OK. Overall, this mirror is of good quality but not great.Only time can reveal how durable and reliable this convex security mirror is. If it fails to meet my expectations, I will come back and revise my review accordingly. For now, it performs decently well, and I recommend it for indoor use only.
