I started using Hemmingworth thread a year or two ago and this year decided that this will be my main thread. (I do a lot of embroidery. ) I love the size of the cone and the special cover that it has. Keeps the dust off the thread giving it a longer life. The price is good too! I've never had a problem with it bunching or breaking. It is very smooth running thread. I can't wait to try the metallic thread.

This thread retains it's beautiful gold shimmer once sewn on cloth and is very sturdy. I love to use it as an embroidered accent.

Love this brand of thread. I use it for most of my projects. I have a 7 drawer collection of colors and this was a replacement color.

Great looking color however the actual color of the product is more browner than the item's picture (which is from the manufacturer).

Great, metallic thread. Color was a nice, metallic gold - not too yellow, not too dull. Used it to sew through paper, no issues.

Looks very nice in the project I was making. The color is much more realistic than other brands I had in my thread box, and I love having the plastic cover to protect the thread.

I've sewn for a LONG time...kids clothes, prom dresses, tailored suits, what have you. I started (home) embroidering around 2010. It is similar in some ways but very different in others. Getting started is mind-boggling. What machine? What software program? What stabilizers? What companies / websites have well digitized designs? And, of course, what brand of thread? And then, what colors to start off with? Choosing the wrong equipment / supplies can be an expensive mistake. Who has money to spend on things that do not work properly? Fortunately, I came across a blog written by a woman who has been in the embroidery business a long time. She has used several brands of thread in her career. Hemingworth is the brand she recommends. After using it, I agree with her. Hemingworth makes embroidery fun!Pros:Plastic cover with removal cap like no other embroidery thread has...protects the thread in storage. The plastic cover aids in the flow of the thread as a person embroiders.Brilliant colors => great looking embroidered designs.Embroiders well with my Pfaff machine.Nice sized spools of thread last a long time. Not really a Con but...Hemingworth makes over 300 different colors...some are very close in shade. Instead of so many similar colors, I wish they made more variegated colors with a combination of colors...not just, for example, a variegated pink or a variegated brown.
