He loved looking at these under his new microscope! Lots of different specimens. Great item for smart or curious youngsters.

These are classroom quality slides that provide a range of interesting plant and animal samples. I, however, am using the for my own photography experiments with a 100x magnifying microscopic lens for my iPhone. So far they have been very easy to image and use. The Sam-Les are small and some digital enlargement is needed to fill the entire photo. I am quite pleased overall.

Just bought and went through some of slides which are interesting to me. General speaking the slide quality is good compared to its price. About 45% are "plants", stems, leaves, roots. For people more interested in "plants", that is good, or may feel too much. There are some valuable slides such as bacteria(you may not see "Three types of bacteria" clearly), different bloods("Frog blood smear" quality is not good enough for photographing"), "mitosis of onion", "meiosis of grasshopper", eggs of parasites, protozoa, fungi, skins of animals, human body, e.g. "Motor end plate" etc. A few slides look like wrong e.g. "loose connective tissue", "lung sec" in my box. 2025-01-22: uploaded some pictures I took for fun.

Hours of exploring with these high quality glass slide set and a great size. Great value with lots of educational options with 100 slides to choose from. A great addition to his compound microscope. I searched for a set he could spend hours with the grandchildren exploring various slides.

I am still deciding whether or not to return these. Some of the slides are great, whilst others are terrible- the daphnia for example is in two separate pieces. There are too many plant based slides, more animal ones would be an improvement but there is a good range.

Need more basic info on each slide. Explain any abbreviations. Perhaps some info on which magnification is best for each slide.

EDIT: Slides arrived a little dirty, but they're easy to clean with the right equipment and really weren't even dirty enough to impact the view. Excellent selection!

Just received, is packaged in bubble wrap and has foam in the box over the slides. The box clasp locks needing a flat screw driver to open. The slides are numbered as are the slide holder slots. The box is plastic. The lid clasp feature is just a piece of plastic that could be filed (the bottom part) and angled so it may open easier, or have a screw driver on hand to open. With the lid that stays closed, the slides won't easily fall out on the floor, possibly breaking. The slide specimen I looked at look clear. Some slight smudging on the slides here and there, probably what would happen if I made a slide.Overall, seems like a nice set of slides I haven't received my (used) microscope yet
