Seemed to stick to very smooth metal or porcelain surfaces but definitely not painted walls or anything with a tiny bit of texture.

So far I've only mounted a toothbrush sterilizer that used to have a similar mounting option but fell off the wall. Hoping these hold better than the ones provided by the manufacturer. So far so good. Easy to use and I can see mounting a lot of stuff, especially anything you want to remove from the wall periodically like framed photos or things that require batteries to work.
