I'm not the handiest guy in the world but figured I'd give this a try, the alternative was to replace my 20 'ish year old speakers even though I'm very pleased with how they sound in my set up. I have two JL 103v2's in a JL H.O. box (factory loaded). I've had both of them re-foamed twice over the years by a professional shop. One needed to be redone kind of prematurely for some reason and instead of taking it back to the shop and having them tell me that it was no longer under warranty I gave it a shot. There are plenty of instructions (with pictures) to help; there's also demonstrations on YouTube. I finally found time to start the project about a month ago on a Saturday. I took my time while watching TV so it may have taken about 3 hours from start to finish. The most time consuming part was scraping ALL of the old glue off of the metal basket (which I would suggest- All OF IT). I let it sit for about 24 hours and installed it, only playing it moderately loud the first couple of days while checking for any problems. I've been cranking it up now without any issues, every things holding nicely. It really gives you a sense of satisfaction when you get it right the first time. Even with the great instructions the job is not exactly fool proof and some of the steps I found to be unnecessary. 1) Once the glue is applied you will NOT be able to adjust anything, contrary to the instructions. I would suggest ensuring the cone is properly centered and moving freely when gluing. 2) Although the instructions say to apply glue to my woofer's trim ring I skipped this step since it was not glued from the factory and it would make it more difficult to complete this job again in the future.**UPDATE** The glue holding the surround to the cone came undone in places after a while. I had heard about Aleen's Tacky Glue being good for speaker surround adhesive. I removed the woofer from the box and pressed the Aleen's into the areas that were loose. It comes out looking like Elmer's school glue so I was quite skeptical about the results. I let it sit for about 24 hrs and It worked like a charm. It's been holding for several months now.

Easy to apply. Fixed my sub. I have never done it before so I was apprehensive. However, it was very easy to fix. Just watch some YouTube videos first and go for it.

Very easy to replace these surrounds. Just take your time and make sure you get glue completely around speaker and don’t use too much glue. It’s not needed.

Awesome kit for speakers and the easy to follow instructions make it a breeze to use. I had never re-foamed a speaker before and this was incredibly easy. Make sure you have a good/sharp blade to remove the old foam and glue and follow the directions to the letter and you will be successful.
