Our Strip Disc use silicon carbide mineral is combined with non-woven nylon fibres using resin. Silicon carbide is a very sharp synthetic mineral commonly used in low-pressure applications like paint prep. The resin bond strengthens the disc and gradually breaks down to reveal new fibres and sharp mineral – delivering a consistent cut over the life of the abrasive.
The combination of fibre strands, resin and abrasive mineral forms a thick, open web. The spring-like nature of the fibres responds to contours and effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils, and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, which in turn reduces rework and boosts productivity. Gaps in the web allow swarf to escape and this benefits of this are twofold. First, it enhances the abrasive's ability to withstand loading.Second, because the abrasive does not get clogged with debris as easily, it has prolonged service life.
Take Advantage of High Conformability With its reengineered fibre, the Strip Disc allows operators to take advantage of all the benefits that come with increased conformability without compromising strength. With increased conformability, this disc achieves a larger contact area with the workpiece for faster removal rates. It also conforms to weld bead ripples to polish welds without removing them, and works in hard-to-reach areas without damaging the substrate.
In addition to its high conformability, the Strip Disc offers low vibration, decreased chunking, low spark, a high speed rating and long life. That all adds up to a disc you can spin onto your angle grinder with confidence.

I love these discs for pain removal, they do a great job removing the old paint, but do not damage or scratch the sheet metal. They last a long time too. Good product for refinishing.

Great sanding discs for your angle grinder. But the individual discs don’t have the grit rating listed on the disc. So you have to figure out what grit it is by trial and error. Could be better labeled

The first time I used this wheel was on the flat of a plate of steel on equipment that had been factory painted with a thick baked on paint. The cut speed was phenomenal. It stripped the paint 10x faster than a wire wheel ever could. But, this pad wears out quick. I ONLY cleaned off a total of a 10"x 10" area and the blue pad I was using is basically toast. It was (2) 5"x10" areas at the edge of flat steel. Perhaps They wore out extra fast as I got close to the edge? I used the blue one on the left in the pic. IF there is a difference in grit between the blue and black abrasive it is minimal and there is no difference on the sticker label. For the price I paid its a great value as it stripped brand new hard factory baked paint in mere seconds. That in itself means it did an amazing job in my opinion.

After removing the Top Dash and lower windshield channel on a 1966 Chevelle I discovered lots of rust. I tried removing the rust with a wire wheel and got discouraged real quick until finding these stripping wheels for my angle grinder. I’m using these to remove Light rust, scaly uneven rust, old paint, and silicone. Leaves nice shinny metal in the end. Gets down in the pits to get the rust out. Looks like it is going to clean it up so that I will be able to spot weld a new Top Dash and Window Channel.The strip discs are rated at 11,000 RPM. I used them on a Metabo HPT 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder at 10,000 RPM. They worked great! I wish that I had known about these a long time ago.3 Color Grits - Black (coarse), Blue (Extra Coarse), Purple (Low Spark)Black is good for stripping paint and rust removal. Blue and purple raw materials are harder and wear-resistant good for old paint and hard scaly rust and cleaning welds.Safety - I wear N95 - Disposable Dust Masks, Gloves and Safety Glasses while using these stripping wheels because it removes a lot of material.

I bought these to remove old paint from wood some with paint pealing. The three grits provided allows one to select the best grit for the wood (that is soft or hard) that needs stripping. They make quick work out of stripping paint but wear down rather fast. They seem to last about as long as the pads that I was paying twice the price so will buy again when these are used up.
