The straps were great and are sturdy, but the hooks are cheap and broke almost immediately. I happened to have a few of those hooks here, so I am currently using my own hooks. Depending on your child's age/weight it shouldn't make a difference, It would take a lot for it to wriggle out of the strap once any amount of weight has been applied. BUT they did break almost immediately.
