I purchased these as a replacement for shifters on a 15 speed Mt. Bike I was repairing. These arebvery cheaply made. Very poor shifting. Every aspect of these shifters is bad. Do yourself a favor and get something else.

Product photos show two assemblies which you would assume based off photos would come with mounting hardware and black tubing to run cable through but it does not!!

The shifter was far too difficult to install because I couldn't just use the included cable. It was too short by about 4 inches which is completely stupid for a shifter that should be made for more of a universal fit and the end can just be cut if too long. I had to cut and use the existing cable which was barely long enough but I managed to get it to fit. I had to clamp the end with a small machine screw between two washers at the shifter. After install it works through the full range of six rear wheel gears. I replaced the cheap grip twist shifter with it and the crank gear shifter also stopped working and I'm considering replacing that one also with the 2nd shifter sent.

This came with two shifters for the same side. No big deal for me as I am using it as a hand throttle in my Toyota Pickup. Works great for my purpose.

Be aware to the fact that these are identical shifters. Both are left hand shifters and not a right and left. Also the length of the shifter cable is not long enough for a full sized mountain bike.

I always used friction shifters in my younger days. As I got older I didn’t want to reach/stretch to the down tube to shift. I removed the original down tube shifters & replaced them with these on my handlebars. Remember to add a clamp on stop on the down tube in place of the original shifters.
