these are pretty large, which is good if you really want to use the brake hoods to rest on sometimes. The lever pull is very smooth, good value

I ordered these for a budget rebuild of a vintage bike I did a few months ago intending to use them just for commutes. But, I've since biked just shy of 1.9k miles on the bike with these installed, using it for everything from the half mile skip over to the nearby metro stop to a 100+ mile ride in a paceline and peloton, but primarily for 9 mile commutes. So, I have a wide range of experience with them at this point and has a list of pros and cons. The 3 starts is within the context of my usage of these for some longer rides, where something with a bit more comfort and ergonomics in mind would be helpful.pros:-Great value: For the price you are paying, these are well functioning and will enable braking. Yes, this is the bare minimum, but if you're on a tight budget it is great to have something this affordable for that.-Relatively easy to install: As long as you have a 5mm Allen wrench available, you should be able to slide the clamp on and attach the levers to that.-Sturdy: I recently took a small tumble on my bike with these, and despite taking a hit into the ground it is still functioning well and didn't explode in the way you'd expect a very affordable option to. The plastic is hard, and the levers are metal.cons:-Not too comfortable: The downside of a harder plastic is that they don't have a softer position for resting your hands. They work well for my commutes, but there's no way I would feel comfortable riding with these for longer periods of time without something like a pair of gloves. So, depending on the type of riding you are doing and need for comfort, consider this.-Clamp not staying tight: I've found that I periodically (every few months) need to retighten the clamp to keep them tight and prevent them from moving around. Part of this is because to get to the 5mm bolt to tighten, you need to use the longer side of a standard Allen wrench, leaving not too much leverage. So, maybe a bit of a me problem, but figured I would note this as I am finding it is less a "set and forget" type of setup and something that you may still need tools around to regularly maintain.-Lever angle: The angle between the hood and levers is a bit larger than levers I've used on other bikes. So, I found it difficult to position the hoods in a manner that I could both have a comfortable position for my hands to rest on the hoods and be able to reach the levers well. You almost have to position the hoods more downwards to get the levers in a more reachable position. This is fine for flatter and more open roads, but I've used them on some descents at this pointConclusion:I bought these because I was figuring I'd try to go as budget as possible on my build and see what was available. But, I've been using the bike more than planned, and the cons are making me consider upgrading soon. But, if you're looking for a budget build and the cons don't bother you, I recommend these as an option. They will work and get the job done.

Disappointing quality unfortunately. I would have returned but had already installed them on the bike. Better to go for a higher quality more expensive set of levers.

Long story short, you can't actually tighten these down sufficiently. They look great, feel great, and are basically unusable because the slot the tightening bolt sits in will snap off if looked at sideways. I broke one with a moderate amount of force, and then tested the other one to see how secure it would be without breaking it - the thing slides all over the place. Essentially a non-starter.

Great for the price. Looks slick. Quality isn't top notch, but it exceeded my expectations for the price. My only gripe is that the levers are angled outward a bit far to reach easily from the drops (for my size XXXL hands no less). Hoods are way more comfortable than the dia-comp non-aero levers I had on the bike previously.

Switched to drop bars on my single speed bicycle and wanted a pair of affordable brakes. These fit the bill. The only issue is that the brake cables are difficult to thread in once the brakes have been secured to the bar... and the brakes are difficult to tighten on once the cables are in. Not difficult to work around (I threaded the cable in before clamping, then used a long), but annoying enough to cost a star in the review.
