The bracket is well manufactured and accurately dimensioned. After I drilled the holes with the template I found that the dimensions were so accurate that I could flip the bracket upside down/right side up and it lined up with the holes I drilled in my solid wood mantle using their template kit. So I’m totally satisfied with the bracket and the template kit. The only caution i’d offer is that this is a bit complex drilling the big holes in the mantle, etc, so you should have a moderate skill level to take this on.

This simple shelf bracket was super useful because I could install a shelf in my basement with ease. It was very easy to put up without anything going wrong. It is super strong and can hold a lot of weight. I spent less money than I would have if I had bought a custom shelf leading me to save a lot of money. It looks amazing and I would suggest that people buy this instead of hiring people to create a shelf and spend more money.

The included auger bit will not drill a hole. The bracket I bought requires 4, six inch holes. After several minutes of repeatedly trying the bit for the first hole, the hole was less than 1/2 inch deep. The wood I was drilling was cedar so it is not hardwood. I tried the auger bit on scap lumber and it will not drill a hole - it starts smoking only after a few seconds of drilling. The entire purchase is unusable since I'll be unable to drill the holes so I'll return everything. Very disappointing.

This thing worked very well and strong. We mounted a 50ld fireplace mantel and it held it just fine.

This was purchased for a floating mantel. It’s attached into studs and is keeping the mantel secure. Happy with it!

I built a 4 1/2 foot long, 7 inch deep and 3 1/2 think walnut mantel. Everything in the kit worked as designed. Auger bit was sharp and cut well. Just drill a couple inches at a time and then clean out the shavings to keep it from jamming. Center punch the screw holes for best alignment. Check the bearing / stop collar on the router bit is tight and aligned properly. Mine was loose. There is not a lot of thickness to the template, so watch the alignment of the router bit bearing to make sure it's not too deep or too shallow.
