I've had this pump in use for 3 years now. Its not a sump pump. Its used for occasional overflow or basement leakage on a flat floor. Yes, it has many other uses. As long as the intake screen doesn't get clogged with debris the pump will do the job. Its not exactly auto sensing. It runs the motor for a few seconds every 10 minutes or so. If the pump doesn't prime, it will stop and continue the cycle. If it primes, it will run until its no longer under load. Mine will prime with about 1/2" of water on the floor and it does pull down to less than 1/4". It didn't come with a garden hose adapter when I bought it. I only need it late winter to mid spring so its not permanently installed. I run the hose into my main sump pump. I took off 2 stars because its gotten a bit noisy over time... Sounds like some sand in the pump but I've run gallons of clean water through it to no avail. Still works fine, but I am thinking its not going to last for more than a couple more seasons. Pumping strong as ever though. And as of year 3+ its no longer priming itself in 1-3/4" of water. Clearly on its way out. I expect more from an appliance like this that isn't in continuous use. What good is it if it doesn't do what its designed for? So over the course of a few years the pump has more or less become a failure for its intended use. I went from 4 stars to 2. As of 11/2018 the pump is dead. Lower bearing on motor failed.

We purchased this in January as a safeguard for spring/summer rains. In June and July we got a lot of heavy rain and needed to use this pump. Well -- the pump worked great on two occasions. Then it completely failed to work and caused us much damage and expense because the auto on sensor stopped working completely. This is unacceptable for a pump at this price level. We spent the extra $100 on this pump for the automatic on/off feature. This feature is completely unreliable and I'm sure the manufacturer and Amazon aware of this. We were very disappointed by Amazon's return policy that will not even consider a return after 30 days -- and leaves no way to communicate with Amazon. We were totally ripped off for $136. From now on, we are using brick and mortar stores for this type of purchase.

This pump is a huge disappointment. It is NOT a Zoeller!!!!! It is an overpriced cheap Chinese pump with a Zoeller sticker on it!!!!!

It shuts off automatically when there's no more water to pump out but it's not dewatering automatically. I had to turn it on manually to resume pumping. When it's installed with a check valve to prevent water back-in, the power was not strong enough to resume the pumping when water was full on the vertical pipe.

Just a quick review I live south of Boston and we've had an unbelievable amount of snow this season, so as a preemptive move I purchased this pump to stave off the water that I know is coming. I will update this review as the need for the pump arises.

The product works great...it sucks the water out quickly and down to almost nothing. We used it on our in-ground pool and outdoor fountains.I would recommend the product.
