The straps are about 5/8" wide and plenty long. Given their small size, I'm sure they won't hold a lot of weight, but they're stronger than I expected. Check each strap when you receive them...one of mine was missing the little strap retainer.

I have to admit, I didn't really pay attention to the sizes with these straps and mostly looked at the product listing picture, which turned out to be quite deceptive. These straps are only 0.5" across, which will probably work ok for a beach chair, but I'm planning on using them as compression straps, so they're too little for that. I'm sure I'm going to find a use for them, however. The straps themselves are of good quality and seem to be fairly well made.
