52 years experience. Can't find a better beater for acoustic bass drum. Adds depth, fullness, volume, feel. And, Yamaha is just right. Very well made.

I have an old ribbon driven yamaha pedal from the early 80’s. The beater part finally died after multiple decades. For a while I tried a fancier pearl duel headed beater, but the weight did not feel right. This beater is perfectly weighted and allows for optimal heal toe speed. It also produces a superior sound to the fancy pearl one. Keep it simple, go with this beater.
