after 2 hours of attempting to see how this tester works im still wondering. I have tried multiple ip cameras to see how it works and none of them would work with this device. Need support but seems i have to wait for an email

I'm a pro IP and analog cam installer for Hikvision gear. Been using this tester to install cams since 2019. The included apps and features are really amazing. Hook and loop wristband is a lifesaver when climbing up ladders. This unit looks like it's rebranded and resold by numerous vendors. It was initially buggy and required frequent reboots, but after a firmware update it works very well. However, It can still be a bit slow a bit buggy occasionally when trying to activate and or log into IP cams. As I get older and my vision gets worse, the screen size and brightness are becoming issues when installing cams outdoors so I'm upgrading to the larger 7" version.

Screen flickers when in night vision for a PTZ camera. I tried it with the different cable still flickers BNC cable. I tested it on my old CCTV tester and it works perfectly night vision and day vision with no flicker.

Great tester, ability to side load android apps on it. Web brower, grest built in analog/IP tools, dhcp server, ping test, etc. Nice not to have to carry around a laptop as this tool can do it all.

I needed to change the output resolution on some HDCVI cameras that my clients DVR couldn't use at full resolution. This tool worked flawlessly! It's got full PTZ control for manipulating the cameras settings menu. It has tons of great unexpected features like short circuit detection on the 12v port (with an onscreen message) and the ability to side load apps. Being able to aim cameras before you connect them to your NVR is a huge benefit alone.

The screen is smaller than i thought but otherwise the tester does everything you need to do at a fraction of the cost of the more expensive testers. All the features are there to allow you to test practically any camera on the market. The display is hard to see under sunny conditions outside .The wristband feature is convenient, when working on a ladder to prevent dropping the unit. If your working inside then this tester is just fine, due to the light sensitive display.

The manual did not include a description of the tester's switches. I googled and found a manual and instructions from the OEM that are much clearer. The tester was useful in verifying that a POE IP camera was flakey. The camera worked if I used the powerjack from the test to feed the coaxial power jack on the camera. When connect to POE, the camera seems to power up , but won't connect to Ethernet. The IP autoscan works well to determine the IP address of the connected camera. The ability to configure camera settings through menus on the tester rather than a web browser is very convenient. This'll be really handy when setting up a new camera while perched on a ladder.

It’s nice because it is quite small and has the wrist strap, so you can be on a ladder working on a camera and you don’t have to hold it with 2 hands. However because the screen is so small it might be sort of difficult to focus a lens if you don’t have great eye sight. For me it’s just fine. It works very well with Uniview and Hikvision cameras. I’ve used it on IP and analog cameras. I’ve even used the UTC controls on a Hikvision camera with a motorized lens and it totally worked. I do wish I could calibrate the touchscreen for my large fingers but I’m being pretty picky to ask for that. So far it has done everything I need it do and I’m very happy with it.

This works as advertised. I use this to test Uniview IP cam placement. Super convenient tool to have if you’re installing PoE surveillance cameras. It runs Android which is pretty cool and has Google Chrome so you can access the web based portals for your cameras (which is easy because this tool gives you their IP address). Very handy!! Will update later if things go awry, but it’s rocking out so far.

This thing does everything but make your lunch. It has a steady hand strap, Android operating system, browser, TDR, and much more. On top of a scissor lift I wanted to position my IP cameras and not have to go back later. This discovered the 4MP IP cams, displayed them, and off to the races. It also works with analog TVI, CVI, and CVBS. Great product at a great price.

I was looking at cheaper alternatives to this tester before I decided that this was by far the tester with the most features for the money. I really only needed a tester for an analog camera system, but knew that I would eventually be testing IP cameras sometime in the future.I did respond to customer reviews and felt it was my responsibility to review this as well. They made (or imported) a very high quality tester that they deserve to sell many more. This tester is really an android device with all the peripherals built in. They gave it a fair sized battery, which I want to get a spare. The charging routine is a little confusing. I'm not sure I am doing it right, but as soon as the red charging light changes from solid to flashing red, that's when I assume it's full. The instructions said not to leave it unattended when charging. That's a little bit scary.Right now all I can attest to is the functionality of the analog test, which is flawless. I purposely got this wrist mounted device because I usually work alone and it's very handy not only to see the camera working, but also to be able to aim and focus the camera without getting off the ladder.I will do an update of this tester after I encounter an IP camera and test it as well.I think I know where one is laying around...

I have bought the $5-600 IP CCTV testers before, but decided to try this one. It worked perfectly for my needs. Ordered 2 more for my other lead technicians and they love theirs as well. Much easier to strap on wrist and focus than having a bulky large tester or using laptop with PoE injector. I bought the 4 year warranty for $18 for added protection in case the device build quality is poor. 1 month and so far so good.
