This is a great little sneaker on the whole. While I am not particularly an athlete and cannot comment from experience on the shoe demands thereof, I associate a basketball shoe with being extremely cushioned at the ankle and what not, which this is not. It is rather lightly cushioned everywhere, really. I would faintly call it a running shoe at most, although the sole is not that springy either. This is merely informative, but for me I love this shoe because it is striking and you don't get a lot of men's shoes in this peacock of colors. I got the blue/purple/orange guys and they are indeed that wonderful pastel thing in real life as well. There's some detailed design on the (Achilles's) heel part of the shoe that I didn't even notice on the product listing, they really went all out here. While they are not excessively soft like I would imagine one might want in an athletic shoe, they are perfectly comfortable for casual walking. The sizing is true to the advertised, and they are accommodating to my wide feet. Great shoes!
