I used to carry the M1911A1 as my service weapon during the 80s and I can tell you that this BB gun is an unbelievable detail orientated replica of the original weapon. I bought it in 2017 and I'm still in awe about the quality of the gun.The only thing that annoys me is the writing on the sled, but, well, I guess you could just remove the coating and refinish it.Anyway, if II could give it 6 stars I would. GREAT gun for aa FAIR price!Oh, and by the way, it shoots pretty well, too!! ;-)

First, a caveat: I don't own any firearms, though I've used them. I'm perfectly happy shooting away with airguns.Bottom line: this is a great all-around shooter and very realistic to the GI M1911A1 in appearance and operation. I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking for a non-competition handgun. (if you're looking for competitive target shooting, go with a single-shot bolt action)This is my first gas-operated gun in a long time, coming from the airsoft world. From my research, the provenance of this gun is via KWC, a fairly prolific Taiwanese airsoft and BB gun manufacturer who makes excellent replicas for a number of distributors, in this case Cybergun. I've had a KWC airsoft copy of a S&W-branded 1911 for some time, and it sets a high standard for this pistol. Interestingly they chose to license the little known Tanfoglio version of the 1911, though other BB blowback replicas, like the Remington and Colt, looks to be the same gun with different cosmetics and features produced for different distributors.Appearance and realism:First, it's a very accurate replica of the original prototype, so much so that at our local air and small-bore range, the RO wanted to check it wasn't a .45. All the typical controls are there, including a FUNCTIONAL grip safety. With some modification, it can take aftermarket grips, which would be a nice upgrade from the brown plastic. Internally it's very similar as well: it can be field stripped and disassembled, with very few threaded fasteners used, and watching a teardown video revealed even the firing mechanism is functionally similar to the prototype. Recoil is strong for an airgun, probably akin to a .22 pistol. Full metal construction with the exception of the blowback mechanism in the rear of the slide, so it's weighty. Only negative points is the paint job, which looks the part but quickly wears on the sliding surfaces. The whole thing is a tin alloy, so it's weighty, but doesn't quite have the fit and finish of a firearm, but is worlds away from most of the semiautos on the market.Accuracy:In the short while I've had this, I've put through about 700 rounds in the woods and at the range. As I said, it's no 10m pistol, but great fun for backyard plinking and short- range shooting. At 15 feet, I was putting rounds through the same hole. The relatively long barrel helps. Velocity is around the 300fps range, though this drops precipitously after 2 magazines and/or rapid-fire shooting, like most CO2 guns, as the canister depletes or becomes cold. In regards to velocity, it definitely lags behind some of the non-blowback options out there and therefore range is limited, but in comparison to other BB-only pistols (as opposed to pellets), but is far more consistent than the cheaper semiautos out there. It's just as at home on a real range as it is in the backyard or basement. As a side note, I've been shooting Crosman Copperheads, but the BBs it came with are excellent and very polished. I did field strip it and lubed the various sliding surfaces with Tri-Flow (blowback mechanism', trigger) and Phil Grease (barrel and slide surfaces) and operation has improved immensely. I'm a bicycle mechanic so I've got these at home, but any light oil and synthetic grease should do.Operation:Did I mention this is a heavy gun? Pretty close to a real .45, so be prepared for some fatigue. I lent this to an 11-year-old at the range (in exchange for some of his zombie-cowboy targets, of course) and he could barely hold it up straight. Report is loud for an airgun; as an apartment dweller, I won't shoot this in my home, but it's nothing like a .22.The 18rd mags leave something to be desired and are the source of a lot of problems reported, apparently. First, there's no catch for the follower and a very, very stiff spring—a real thumbnail killer. My remedy has been to lube it up well, hold it back with a jewelers screwdriver and use a modified Bic pen as a funnel. I haven't had the leaking problems some have described, but I use a generous amount of Pellgunoil on the C02 bottles, don't torque them into oblivion, and don't leave them in for long. The trigger is smooth and not particularly heavy, with no perceptible steps. Single-action only and requires racking the slide on reloading, just like the real thing. The semiauto action will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger, though at the expense of velocity as mentioned. Slide locks back when empty.Sights are much like the GI model–narrow and fixed. The front sight is molded in, but the rear is a dovetail held by screws, though I have no idea if they are replaceable with something equivalent. Again, like the prototype, there is no accessory rail, so if you're looking for different sight options, perhaps the Colt or Remington versions are better for you.Handholding is comfortable, with a big beavertail and scalloping around the trigger. Feels well-balanced, no doubt in part by the metal magazines. In all, I highly recommend it, and it is highly worth the the upgrade from some of the Crosman and Daisy offerings. Remember, FPS isn't everything.

I am hereby giving this product 5 stars without hesitation since it is absolutely an amazing airgun/ replica of the real historic sidearm in term of handling and shooting feelings. The gun itself feels very solid in hand with roughly 90% of metal (some kinds of alloy, not steel) and 10% of high-quality plastic. It weighs almost like the real one. Cocking sound is excellent. Blowback action is very realistic and fun to operate. It makes me feel excited about every single shot despite the fact that this feature causes a short lifetime of CO2 tank (first 30-35 shots at full power are sufficient to penetrate a soda can at 50ft, the rest ~10 shots can bend Aluminum can and penetrate carton target easily) compared to non-blowback ones (this is normal, isn't it!). The blowback is very fast so that you can fire at a very high rate. However, the next thing I am gonna say is what really makes me that surprised: I shot a soda can at a 50ft distance with 100% of accuracy. Wow! I aimed with that iron sight, no other aiming support. The BBs penetrated completely throughout that can and stayed inside my wood fence. This airgun can also be disassembled like the real one for maintenance. In short, it's worth every penny. Just hope it can last for years. Warning: this is absolutely not a toy for either children or any irresponsible mature persons, treat it as a weapon since it can cause severe damage to living things and properties.

I love the aesthetic aspect of the gun in comparison with the actual 1911 models out there. It has a really good weight and feel to the piece, and the blowback feature is amazing. The blowback feature gives it a little recoil, so it's a great gun for shooting practice in the backyard without going to the shooting ranges. A couple of things on my list in buying a bb co2 gun are the blowback feature and the 0.177 cal. Another thing that makes this gun so realistic is there's nothing sticking out on the bottom of the pistol. What I mean is a lot of bb guns have a turning screw that popped out on the bottom of the grip making it less attractive for me to buy. There are not that many good 0.177 cal. bb guns with blowback features, so I was debating whether I should get this 1911 or the Sig Sauer P226. After doing my research and watching a bunch of Youtube videos, I decided to go with the 1911. I also owned a Walther compact CP99, but it's not as realistic as this 1911. One thing I don't like about this 1911 is the grip. The grip has a "sharp" plastic feel to it and it's uncomfortable when I am gripping the piece really hard, so I am planning to replace the grips. I have shot about 3 loaded magazines and I was surprised how accurate the gun is within 15 to 20 feet. I definitely think that this is one of the "best" blowback bb guns in the market. I wish they also make one for a HK USP pistol because I would buy that one too. Overall, I am a happy customer and 100% satisfied.
