Had to do some plumbing repair to my water lines in the basement and needed something to clean off fireproofing that had been sprayed onto the pipes. This worked amazing for the first few uses, but then failed to work for my application.Wanted something that I could attach to a drill to clean the ends of older copper pipe that had been coated with a hard, fireproofing type spray (much like spray paint). On first use, it cleaned the residue very well and left a smooth shiny surface on the pipe. After a few uses, you could tell it wasn't cleaning as well as the first run. Maybe the bristles broke in and the tightness of the contact between them and the pipe wasn't as strong anymore. After cleaning about 10 pipe ends, I found that the inexpensive hand tool cleaned better.Things that are nice - It definitely makes quick work of cleaning off debris from a pipe end. Being able to attach it to a drill also saves your wrist. The construction is solid.Things that I found not as nice - It didn't clean off the material I needed to remove without extended cleaning times. The hand held cleaner did the job faster and seemed to fit more snuggly around the 1/2" pipe.I think this would work amazingly well for new pipe or older pipe that is only lightly soiled. I think the cleaning ability decreased very quickly upon use, at least the way I was using it. I'm sure it will come in handy down the road, especially if I have to replace old pipe with new, but like I said before, the hand tool worked better for heavy buildup.

Sizes are limited to 3/4” and 1/2” but this little tool on a 1/4” chuck drill shaved 3-4 hours off of a 12 hour copper job. Sand clothing is needed in some respect like for chiggers on the pipe wall like foundry markings or scratches. Best for new copper pipe. Make sure to buy replacements strips and have some ring snap pliers. Highly recommend. I call it the arthritis saver.

It was brilliant at first. But then it wears down REAL FAST and after a few uses you have to spin it in both directions and then after week 4 you need new bristles to which you can't find any that say they're for this brand

Well-made and works well, however, it would be GREAT if they made it slightly longer. It cleans about 7/8 inches of pipe. Push-connect pipe fittings (such as SharkBites), which are now sold everywhere and used almost exclusively for residential fitting replacements, require either 15/16 or 1 inch of pipe to be cleaned. Therefore, I have to manually sand the remaining 1/8 inch of pipe manually when installing these fittings, which somewhat defeats the purpose of having this tool.

Worked well for what it was intended for. Not sure how long it would hold up to continuous use. Great for tight places.

Purchased 1 then 2 more right away of these tools for our shop. We do a lot of 1/2" (5/8"OD) copper soldering of heat exchange coils. My coil guys love them.Wire brush lasts us 3-4 weeks. Run it in reverse when it gets dull to extend the life of the wire brush.Have been using these daily for 3 months now.The 1/2"OD copper size works with 5/8"OD.

I have read multiple reviews saying that the 3/8 inch arbor continuously separates from the tool during use. There is a very easy fix that eliminates this issue. If you keep the drill engaged while pushing the copper pipe in and OUT of the cleaning brush, the tool will work perfectly and will not separate from the arbor.

Definitely better than the mi ro$€ plastic counter parts. Frustrated that the 3/4” version keeps coming off the socket driver, pleased that it cleans. Also, how much money can I save if I don’t buy the sweet wooden box? It’s cool and all, but unnecessary and immediately given away (because it’s absurd taking it into jobs- ever been on a worksite?)

Made well, does what it is supposed to do without any problems. It should last a long time. While it has the socket for an impact gun, I wouldn't use it with one. It would be too violent and you usually don't have speed control.A regular drill would be fine. Not that it adds value for me, but I can't get over the beautiful wooden box it comes in, tho:I have nice high quality router bits that come like this but not a plumbing tool.Nice tool. Makes a lot of difference in properly prepping the connections.
