The caps came in two sealed bags from the manufacturer so were clean and protected from contamination. I needed caps with a fluoropolymer liner to withstand some very corrosive and reactive substances that will be stored in vials sealed with these caps. The liners inside of these caps are only coated in PTFE, just like it says in the product title and description, and the coating is thick and evenly applied over the surface of the liner and I have yet to have a cap fail due to a perforation or imperfection in the PTFE layer or the sealing abilities of the cap. Time will tell truely how well these seal, but so far, they have worked perfectly and I've seen no signs of leakage. Lastly, these caps are incredibly well priced especially considering that this size is often much more expensive than other sizes and the fact that labware utilizing PTFE is usually significantly more expensive than labware made with other materials.
