Excellent product. I installed this on my hitch-type salt spreader, and it has made a massive difference in salt flow. No more stopping and going to hit the brakes to get the salt moving again. To buy a vibrator for my spreader from the dealer was going to be over $500. So, even with the extra $50 I spent on a switch, wiring, and a backer plate for it, it's still much cheaper than buying it from a dealer.

I recently added the 80LBS 50W DC 12V Salt & Sand Vibrator to my salt spreader, and it's been a big improvement. Living in an area where I not only look after my driveway but also help out a few neighbors, dealing with a salt spreader that frequently jammed was a real headache. This nifty device has completely transformed that experience.Before I got this vibrator, I constantly had to stop the truck, get out in the cold, and manually shake the salt spreader to keep it flowing. It was time-consuming and, frankly, a bit of a hassle. But since installing this vibrator, the salt feeds through smoothly and consistently. It's saved me so much effort and time.The build quality of the vibrator impresses me. It's sturdy and robust, which is crucial given the heavy use it gets during the winter months. While the installation was a bit DIY-heavy – some additional mounting accessories would have been helpful – but it was worth the effort.The vibrator operates on a 12V DC supply and does its job efficiently without being overly noisy. This means I can keep the cab warm and toasty without being disturbed by a loud motor.So far, this device has proved its worth, making my ice-clearing tasks much more manageable. I highly recommend it to anyone facing similar challenges with their salt spreader – it might just make your winter chores a lot easier.

Current price point at the time/date of this review: $107.54 with no discount/coupon being offered. Pricing is fair, but I’ve tried higher capacity units for a similar price point. With that in mind, it would be nice if this one came with a decent discount/coupon offering lowering the price to below the $100 mark. To be sure, cheaper alternatives do exist however it’s the overall build/design you’ll want to be concerned with. This one is a 50W unit and works with your vehicles DC voltage/wiring.Not incredibly large, especially given the capacity, but these types of units aren’t oversized to begin with. It is however a little weighted, but with the right installation it’ll hold just fine and the weight is appropriate for the type of quality build it comes in. Generally appears to be well sealed off although time/experience/use will be the ultimate indicator. Comes with thickened materials and construction.Design looks average, it’s a safe bet and comes in a generic color. Works as intended.

I installed this unit, and used it twice (under 10 minutes each time). Both times it worked great! However, the 3rd attempt, the unit wouldn't cut on. I tested voltage to the unit, it was good. Then I used the meter to check the resistance of the motor an it was dead.

No problems with clogging nor overheating. Easy to load and runs efficiently. Great continuity and control. Excellent power with the motor. Performs wonderfully for long hours. Strong construction. You have to get or already have the mounting bolts, but those aren’t difficult to find. Durable.

This motor performs as it should. I didn't get it for a salt spreader though. I purchased it to vibrate a classifier for gold hunting and I must say I am quite pleased with how it shakes things up. I am looking forward to taking my classifier to the hills and processing a lot more dirt.
