Purchased a Sr. Vaughn 2000 Lexan Throat Guard through an online hockey retailer. Attached it to a Vaughn Sr. Medium mask. The guard's material type, gauge and finish appeared comparable to other big name throat guards. Guard came with three good lace ties for mask attachment. My son used it four-to-five days per week at the bantam level (travel and rec league). During a rec league game, a 13yo's wrist shot shattered it 29 days after installation; the referee stopped play and required its removal, citing potential hazard of laceration. Contacted hockey primate retailer about a warranty replacement; they accepted the claim, but noted Vaughn must review and process each warranty claim individually. In the interim, using a 4 year old Bauer guard, marred with shots, that shows no signs of impending failure. Still waiting on Vaughn... and waiting... and waiting...

It a good product it's the right size for my 11 yr old he's gone through 3 of them in past 3 years all three breaks have been from a coach shot so it's pretty much saved his life:)
