I had high hopes for these heated snow melting mats, but unfortunately, they've been a major disappointment. The advertised 3 in/h melting speed is far from accurate in my experience. Even with a relatively light snowfall, the mats struggled to keep up, and I still had to do a significant amount of shoveling. The heating is uneven, with some areas melting faster than others, leading to patches of ice and slush. The PVC material, while seemingly waterproof, doesn't feel particularly durable. I'm concerned about its long-term resistance to wear and tear, especially with repeated exposure to cold temperatures and snow/ice. The 10ft x 21in size is also quite limited, providing coverage for only a very small area. You'd need multiple mats to cover a typical walkway or driveway, which would be a significant expense. Overall, these heated snow melting mats have not lived up to their promises. The melting performance is underwhelming, the durability is questionable, and the size is limited. For the price, I expected much better results. I would not recommend these mats, and I'm giving them a two-star rating only because they do melt some snow, but not effectively or efficiently enough to justify the cost.

Worked great to melt snow! Only issue I had with it is that it's vinyl so if you walk on it with snow... It is super slippery. It was advertised as also to be used on walk ways which is where I needed it. Did the job but needs rubber or some sort of traction on it for foot traffic.

This review is for the VASALAID Heated Snow Melting MatsOverall: 1 StarI tried this to help out my sister with melting snow off her deck walkway. It was not a great choice. Even though the Amazon listing states that it can be used on walkways, the instructions that come with it do not suggest that use, in fact, the only use described is for melting ice and snow from your roof. Aside from that, the ability for this mat to melt snow is too slow for walkway usage - and becomes slippery when it does. I can't provide a review for how this works for your roof, it might be an excellent choice for that application.

This pad is perfect for the space it protects. It works fast and prevents icing in a limited space.

Very slippery when wet. Hardly noticed heat even hours after plugged in. Not worth the money or honest in the advertising.

I was using this on my back deck to make a path to the hot tub outside. It does work and it does melt the snow, but as with other reviews, there needs to be some type of grip put on the mat because it does get very slippery as it is melting the snow. The is no traction at all. I was thinking about trying to put this across our car windshields to see if it would keep them from getting a ton of snow or ice on them. I think that might be a better use for these rather than having the safety issue with a slippery mat. Good idea, and works, but needs a little more reengineering to get more than three stars.

This heated snow melting mat is perfect for keeping walkways clear and preventing ice buildup during winter. The 10ft x 21in size covers a good portion of the path, making it safer to walk without worrying about slipping. The heating performance is impressive, melting snow at a rate of 3 inches per hour. The PVC material feels durable and weather-resistant, ensuring long-term use. A great investment for hassle-free snow removal and added safety in icy conditions!

I like that this does work for snow here in the midwest. I did read all the instructions and noticed that you can't have this running 24 hours a day. So I did put this on a timer. So I do forget to unplug this it will shut off for about 4 hours then turn back on and run for another 20 hours if needed. The company says that it pulls 375 watts, so that is about 3.21 amps draw on your system. So not much if you think about most heaters in the house pull 900 watts ro 1500 watts that can be up to 12.5 amps. I also understand that this is ment for keeping the snow off your walk ways and then when done with the snow picking it up and putting it away. Yes you walk on it but it is slippery when it is wet. All in all I do like this snow mat and wish I could get a couple more to put up on my roof. But that will have to wait.
