Dustless mortars are being introduced but they don’t eliminate the dust completely and they are costly. I know what I’m talking about. After twenty years of setting tile I came up with an idea. I call it WaleTale. It will not allow dust to escape the top of the bucket. It will even pull the dust out of the bag and still let the powder flow into the bucket.

This unit functions fairly well. It does take some force to get it to "clamp" to a bucket. The material is somewhat thin and, I suspect it may not hold-up to too many cycles of attaching and removing from buckets before it breaks, however, this is preliminary and we will see.

Purchased to put on buckets while pouring and mixing self leveling concrete inside a house. Weather was too cold to mix outside, so we mixed inside and used this attached to a HEPA filtered, professional dust collector and we had no issues with airborne dust.I sell surface preparation equipment for a living and often have to tell end users why they should use professional dust collectors and the correct attachments (like this) to control silica dust. This made all the difference for keeping our home clean while we mixed SLU.

Used this "Wale Tale" today and I love seeing all the dust sucked away into the Shop Vac. Great little invention, could have used this decades ago, but I got mine now. Be sure to check the hose measurements, you might need to look into an adapter. Unfortunately, not all shop vac. hoses are created equally.

This attachment really does reduce the amount of dust while pouring bagged products and it fits several different sizes of buckets.

Works great on a bucket will not fit a small drum mixer.

We did 25 60 lb bags of concrete in a 5 gallon bucket and it worked amazingly well. I cut another bucket down to about 6" depth and attached this to that. Then put that into another bucket so you can lift it in and out as needed. It took in 90-95 % of the dust.
