*update to original review*Once getting over the (very important, imo) fact that these bulbs are *switched*, they're quite nice. There is a capacitative switch built into the flat end of the bulbs. You touch the flat end to turn the bulb on and off. When first plugged in, the bulbs flash briefly but are then "off" by default. Touch to turn on, touch to turn off.They look very "scientific"; the glass looks like the kind of glass that lab equipment is made of, very clear. Or like vacuum tubes maybe. I have a blue clear one, pink clear, and green clear (so far :). The blue one is the "prettiest" to me, though the others are fine. Pink and green look much brighter to my eyes than the blue one; I don't know if there is an actual brightness difference or if it's just perception.I'm still sticking with 2 stars because the product description is wrong. If the description explicitly said these were touch-switch on-off, they'd be 5 stars.*original review below*attractive little bulb, very clear glass that feels fairly sturdy. The device seems to have some kind of switch in it, which is nowhere mentioned in the product description. Or maybe it doesn't, and my bulb is just defective. It *usually* turns on when I touch the flat end of the bulb, and then usually turns off when I touch it again. However, I do not want a touch on/off light, I want a light that is just on when plugged in, which is what this device is described as being. It is not, or at least the one I got is not.I wish it worked because it looks nice, but I suggest looking for another solution. I am going to leave this with two stars. HOWEVER, allow me to add that the lights really do look pretty cool (I got a blue one to start). And having them be sort-of touch on-off is not what I wanted but that does not mean it isn't useful. If you're into the PeeWee Herman end of the decor spectrum, these things are worth keeping in mind, even though they are not as advertised.

When I first plugged this into a USB, I could not get it to work and I thought that it must be defective. Then I tried a couple of more USB outlets and I could get it to flicker a little bit but it just would not come on. Finally I tried another USB outlet and I must have pushed it in farther and harder than I had the others because it actually came on and stayed on. So, just be aware that you have to REALLY push this thing into the USB HARD!!!

I expected this thing to be a basic LED attached to a usb plug but it's actually way cooler than that. First of all the light element is two skinny strands of LED that make it look like an old timey incandescent light bulb. Also it's super bright and dimmable as well. I love that the controls for it is an invisible touch sensor on the tip of it. It actually took me a minute to figure that out lol

Description says to use 1 or 2Amp but it does not work.Says do not use fast charging.I will try 3Amp if I have but if it does not work then they do not work at all.I like the idea but the electronics is badly designed.Not recommended.
