Not as well made as I thought it would be but for the low price I wasn’t expecting much, the brass clasps, are ok, the canvas is thin but the stitching is good. Definitely do not buy if you’re looking for a historical accurate haversack, but it still is a decent piece if you don’t look to close.

Contrary to popular belief, this bag was of the much more common type issued to federal troops during the American Civil War. This reproduction is a stunning recreation of the little known (to silly "reenactors") and well known to collectors as the Tilly model US Haversack. It is faithfully recreated in a period correct polyester/cotton blend, as well as a plastic interior liner to keep one's salted meats from staining the gorgeous blue exterior of the bag. These were prized possessions among the soldiers to whine these bags were issued, as they were very ahead of their time. I hope I have enlightened the snob that left that other review about how supposedly inaccurate this bag was. That person is sorely mistaken! Harrumph!

This is as about as far from "historically accurate" as one can possible get. The color, the stitching, the label, the closures - there is just about nothing about this bag that matches anything used by soldiers in the Civil War. Total fantasy creation

The labeling was white not blue. And the label is not stitched in. The inside of the bag has one side covered with a thin plastic to help waterproof. The other side is just the fabric. Its also a replica of a historical union bag from the Civil war and it's made in China...
