At first I thought getting a Lil Wil would be a better choice but I have since changed my mind. Good little cb antenna. Hear skip from everywhere and even with just my Cobra 29 with a simple peak and tune I have talked up to 50 miles with this thing. Of course that was to one of the big radio guys who had great reception but this turned out to be worth the money. Shop for a good price though.

THis tram, cb antenna is better than I thought. THe quality is great, and SWR is 1.5.1 or less across all channels. Very good product...I find amazon prices vary, weekly and not the best, but the product is sound....

Strong magnet. 2 set screws holds antenna in place very well. Allen key included. Good coax length & quality PL-259 connector.Tuning with SWR meter averaged 1.5 to 1.=good.Once match was set, I used a bit of silicone to seal antenna where whip installs into base to waterproof. Using Side Band on 2500' mountain with TRC-453, this little antenna was shooting DX skip like a boss !!This antenna is good on AM for local, 8 to 10 miles depending on terrain.Keep in mind this is not a 102" whip.

Yup, works good.I stuck this on the trunk of my 2000 Camry. The radio I’m using is a Cobra 29 Nightwatch, the same age as my car.I trimed maybe 1/4” off the length of the whip and I have an even SWR of 1.5:1 on channels 1 and 40. couldn’t get it any lower, maybe if I put it on the roof, but it’s fine.I’m in central Ontario an the other night talked skip with the tram 300 with a few guys is Massachusetts, something I wasn’t expecting with such a small antenna. It’s a good size antenna for the trunk of a car, it fits nicely in the under ground parking lots.

Mine tuned in well, and receives and transmits well for as short as it is. Works best when it is centered on top of vehicle. It also brings in my local weather radio station very strong.I've heard others say they had a hard time tuning their TRAM 300 tune in well. The one I received tuned SWR in about .1:1 on CB channels 12 through 40. The lower channels were progressively higher with channel 1 tuning in at about 1.2:1. I'm usually on channels 14 to 40 anyway. So, this antenna tuned in well for me. I think most people having trouble tuning their SWR down must be using 10 meter radios that are peaked already. From what I see, it's best to tune using closer to legal limit RF output/power to tune it at first, then see what's it's does on hire output. For test purposes, I tried the tuning after with a RM Italy KL203 after initial tune. With about 80 watts dead key, the meter showed around .4 at channel 40 and 1.5 to 1.6 at channel 1. I then backed down the input to the amp, and measurements dropped about another .1 to .2 since I dropped dead key pwr about 30 watts. It looks like this antenna should do really well for most all legal, barefoot, radios... given production is consistent. That is, if stinger masts are all truly identical in length. I haven't measured mine yet.

I didn't have any troubles at all with this antenna. The magnet is strong and it never even moved at 80 mph on the interstate hwys. I did a 4600 mile round trip in my Ford Expedition with it from, NW Washington to Ft.Worth,Tx then back N. through Co. Wy. Mt. etc. I whacked a couple of Sonic drive-in awnings along the way, so it was torqued in both directions pulling in & out of the spots. I didn't have any trouble setting the SWR either. Just raised the whip off bottom about a 1/2 inch set me at 1.1:1, good reception all the way. I like the fact it has 2 set screws to hold the whip in place. I don't know how far it talked but I got a positive radio check when I started out and no one complained about the signal on the few occasions I keyed up. the coaxial cable and connector are of good quality and attached firmly. I'm happy with it.

This came in a giant box all by itself??? I took it out of the plastic bag packaging and loosened the setscrew on the base and stuck the whip in all the way, and then tightened the setscrew. Put it up on the roof of my pick-up in the center. The magnet seemed sufficiently strong with the rubber shield still on the base bottom. ran the wire through the back window to the radio and checked SWR. It was never any higher than 1.3 to 1 on any channel That's good enough for me. Been using it for about a week. So far no issues, and it gets out. So far about 7-8 miles is the farthest I have talked. Compares with the Little Wil I used to use. Looks well made. Hope it lasts for a long time.

This antenna has been sitting on my car since one year.. It has a great ability to transmit well and has good ears too.. Very reliable.. Compared to my 5 foot president ML 145 which hits all low lying branches and stuff.. Theres not much difference.. I thought longer is better but this antenna proves me wrong.. Hooked on to president bill this antenna works good.... Heared and transmitted 7 miles on hilly terrain.. No problem.. For the price... Its a grab! Those driving suvs and high roof vehicles.. Go for it .. 73s

Antenna arrived in great shape not bent like others have said, went to an open lot and tuned this antenna in under five minutes. I have used wilson 1k,2k,5k, preditors 10k, this antenna by far was the easiest to tune ever. Out of the box with the whip all the way seated in the base the swr was 1.4. Useable but i wanted better, so i pulled the whip out alittle twice and got a flat match of 1.0. I have not talked to anyone yet but so far im impressed on how easy it was to tune. I am also a 20 year ham operator. If the item was junk i would tell ya lol. For occasional users or people with hight restriction this would be perfect and at half the price of the k40 or wilison lil will will save you some coin in your pocket book.Update 7-4-20Other reviewers are right. I put this antenna on two different swr meters and the whip is short cant ge tit below 1.7 antenna is lifted all the way up. Gonna get a longer whip. Other then that works great.

I bought this antenna to replace a Wilson Little Wil - which failed due to water infiltration & resulting corrosion after 2 years. The Wilson performed better. I have 3 problems with this Tram antenna after tuning with a SW meter: 1) the antenna is too short. Antennas are usually shipped extra long so that they can be trimmed to a length to give a strong signal. I had to extend the antenna past the lower set screw, so that now it is held in place by only the upper set screw. Hope it does not fall off the roof of my Cherokee.2) The best SW reading I could get was 1.6 Channel 1; 1.5 channel 40; 1.2 Channel 20. My Little Wil got signal strengths of 1.3 or better on all channels. 3) I am getting engine noise, so I will need to re-locate my power feed. Did not have this problem with the Little Wil.BTW, the Little Wil got water infiltration from the antenna whip down, not from the base or cable connection. So it would be a good idea to caulk the joint where the set screw and antenna whip come together.
