I've tried many silicone tongs (all of the Joseph Joseph Elevate series) which I haven't been satisfied with, but landed on these. I've since purchased 2. These tongs are very sturdy, the arms do not bend at all, the feet help it stand up sturdily and do not topple (the Joseph Joseph ones topple when trying to stand them in the closed position, a key reason I was not happy with them). My only comment would be that I wished they were a bit longer (or had a variation which were longer by say 2 inches). The current length provides for a good balance between cooking in the kitchen and going in the salad bowl on the dining table, but I would've preferred a longer one for the kitchen and slightly shorter one for salad. Locking mechanism took a bit of use to allow the metal grind to the right shape and hold more easily, but that wasn't a big concern. Highly recommend.

These are my favorite. I have had a pair I bought from another store for maybe 5 years and they are my favorite kitchen utensil. They hold up very well and still look band new. When I found them on Amazon I was overjoyed. I bought a few pairs to give to family members because I care about their kitchen happiness. The stand on the side is perfect so they don't make a mess on the counter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I could have gotten cheaper options but they were unstable in the locking mechanism. love this one. my steaks can be flipped perfectly and it's so easy to grab noodles, pasta etc

I've used a lot of tongs in my day but I have to say these are hands down the best. I bought them because it can be laid on its back versus just the side. Keeping the tongs off the surface but once received. I say and felt the quality. Well made both in design and aesthetically appealing. We now have 3 in our kitchen arsenal. May gets some minis to replace the crappy ones we currenty have that are falling apart. Great product!

I've had silicone tipped tongs before and they always begin cracking quickly. These are sturdy. Not just the silicone, but the tongs themselves. There's a good weight to them without being unwieldy. The locking mechanism is the best I've ever encountered. It holds tight and lets you actually use the little footrest. And that little footrest is AMAZING.Best tongs ever!

Bought these for their high heat tolerance, size, and excellent build quality. They work fantastically and they look great.Only thing of note is the locking mechanism at the end seems a bit stiff, but it still works. Also, these do go on sale sometimes for less than $10.

I use this for turning foods in a frying pan or oven and sometimes to serve salad if the salad tongs are not available. I like that the tong part is metal coated with silicone so it does not scratch my cookware but is also sturdy, unlike some other brands that are flimsy in that area. I also like that the lock holds tight and there is a piece on the side so you can rest it on a counter without the greasy tips touching the surface. It washes in the dishwasher beautifully. I wish the shorter version had the same features.

Good quality material and metal used. The rubber grip does not deform even in coal flames. The metal does not bend like other cheap ones I've encountered before. Even while holding bigger size item, or applying sudden jerk to the food, you can be sure your food won't be disfigured or deformed, and will work exactly how you want.

The reason that I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is that it's somewhat difficult to open and close. The locking/unlocking mechanism is not smooth. Otherwise, this pair of tongs work well. It can pick up individual strands of angel hair pasta out of a pot. The silicone rest on the handle is very convenient, preventing the counter from getting dirty.
