The timing belt coordinates the rotations of the camshaft and crankshaft which in turn, ensures that the valves and pistons all move in sync.
We recommend replacing your kit regularly for 60,000-100,000 miles.Over time the belt expands or contracts due to heat and age which cause the belt to slowly deteriorate.when replacing the timing belt, you'd better replace the water pump and other timing components to avoid further engine damage.

What Does a Timing Belt Do?
The timing belt keeps the camshaft and crankshaft turning at the correct rate.The crankshaft moves pistons up for compression and exhaust cycles, while the pistons move down for power and intake cycles. Depending on the vehicle make, a timing belt will also run the water pump, oil pump and injection pump.

Great Part, need 3 small screws to Water Pump, unless you can get them out without stripping.

Tensioner failed after 45k miles, nowhere near the 60k recommended change interval, requiring me to rebuild the head or junk the car. I rebuilt it and replaced these junk parts with Gates HTD parts.

As with any inexpensive product...you never know. But, this one has proved to be a good quality with a lot in the kit. The water pump is has a metal impeller and all the bearings, belt and seals seemed to be a good quality. Installed using YouTube and have several hundred miles on it without issue. I guess it could fail in time, but for the $50 I spent on it on a 233k mile car. It was well worth it. I would recommend this product.

This is a great price for this kit. Every thing worked/fit fine. Quality was good, but only time will tell if it will hold up and last.
