The microphone works well when you speak directly into it at a very small distance. The speaker works well at full volume, just like the radio. Easier to use these than bringing the whole radio up to your mouth to speak each time. Small price to pay for this efficiency. These are durable and small enough for any sized hand. These are wired and plugged directly into the side of the radio. No other batteries are needed, aside from what comes with the radio itself.

These are cheap hand mics... granted. So, I was not expecting a lot from them, but they have few flaws that are hard to ignore. While they are small and lightweight as a vest mic, I have had others tell me the sound is not great... kind base shifted and muddy. But my biggest dislike is they don't feel like they seat well into the K1 port on the Tidradio TD-H3... even though these are also Tidradio branded. I even had one partially pull out or not seat all the way in and it would make the radio transmit open mic! After I used them a while I think they kinda "wore in" and the connection is better now, but,,, yeah get the newer tidradio hand mics instead of these... or get something else a little more expensive if you want a good mic. If you want a cheap set that are "ok"... these might do.

Purchased two for my radios, out of the box one would not function properly without me having to press on the plug. otherwise it wouldn't transmit when button was pushed and audio was very muffled.

The mic fit the radios I bought it for and they were reasonably priced.
