This is the 3rd toothbrush purchased for 10 lb Toy Poodle. 1st one was too hard. Made her gums bleed. 2nd one too soft. Did nothing. This one is just right! Not too hard but not too soft. Fits in her small mouth easily and cleans her teeth well. Very happy with this tooth brush. Will buy again. Also, easy to use. She tolerates it a lot better than the other two.

It said it was for a small dog. My dog is 18 lbs. She has a small mouth. The head on this is too big for her mouth. Maybe if it was an extra small it would have work for her. It was hard to clean her teeth because I could not get it in the back for the back teeth. I would not get this again.

I was introduced to this toothbrush at my dentist's office many years ago when the company marketed them to humans. I don't know why they quit selling to humans—probably not enough sales. I was so happy to find that they still make them for dogs. I have never used the toothbrush on a dog. My husband and I use this toothbrush, and our hygienist (at a new office) has commented on how good our teeth look. I highly recommend this toothbrush for humans and I assume it works equally as well on dogs teeth.

This three sided dog toothbrush has worked amazing for my husky. This is my second purchase. You have to get a little creative to brush the canines, but it does the job.

I’ve had this brush for my dog for a while now and we’re still using it a few times a week. I should probably buy a new one. I used to use those little finger brushes with the super flimsy bristles, but it was awful because my dog would just bite me. This brush is great because it is really sturdy. My dog gets excited about the toothpaste and starts biting this brush, and it’s fine. He basically brushes his own teeth because he’s biting and it’s catching bristles on all three sides. I do slight back and forth motions, especially on his front teeth, but for his back teeth I mainly just push the brush in as far as I can comfortably get it and then I let him chew a little.Make sure when you’re adding toothpaste to the brush that you spread all the bristles apart with your fingers. Otherwise, the paste will just all come off as soon as you start brushing.

This is a little bigger than I would like, but works better than any other dog toothbrush I've tried. Because of the 3 sides I can brush my dog's teeth quickly and more thoroughly. She doesn't like having her teeth brushed so this helps to get it done faster.

I transitioned from using silicone finger brushes to this, and it gets their teeth a lot cleaner in a lot less time, especially in the back. You just kind of have to shove it back on their molars and do a few quick brushes, and this design helps you get all the angles in the time that they'll sit still for you to brush their teeth.I would recommend this only for large breeds, (I have a 2-year-old husky) and if you're a first timer it may be easier to start out with a finger brushes. I tried a baby human toothbrush briefly before I got a dog one, and he was not having it, but once he was used to being brushed (and since he loves chicken-flavored toothpaste) it was a lot easier to get him to let me brush his teeth with this thing. Also, if you are worried about keeping this clean, it is dishwasher safe, but also easy to get clean by just washing it in the sink (the brush apparatus is flexible, not stiff like I thought it would be, and I was initially worried toothpaste would build up on it). It would fit in most human travel toothbrush holders/covers to store it.I have only had mine for a few days so I can't comment on how it wears over time, but I do think the design is genius and because it's so much easier than what I've been doing, I feel more motivated to brush every day and hopefully prevent his old dog breath from being too bad for the future!

I can see the advantage of this toothbrush, for getting all sides at once and brushing more quickly, but I don't recommend it for just starting out. It's a bit difficult to get it placed over all of the teeth: the brush bristles are smooshed together, so the brush head has to expand a little to cover them, meaning you have to push it down over the teeth; also, the brush head is super big and bulky, due to having three sides in one. So, it's really hard to use in the "getting used to it" phase. I switched to a finger tip toothbrush and hope to progress to this one after my dog is more used to brushing in general. I'll update this review if I get to the point where we can use this brush, if I find that it's worth more stars then. :)
