This Beadsmith Comfort Grip Line is great for makers who need economical priced ergonomic tools. These make great loops and are comfortable to use for longer periods than other brands. I have the whole set of this line and they are all good quality and comfortable.

The wife was looking for this tool so she could make the chains for her jewelry. This tool nailed it and she was getting really good bends within an hour of getting them... great tool well worth the money.

I make rosaries, and I use very stiff wire (stainless steel, probably 18 gauge or so). With my other "rosary" pliers (which include a cutter), I have to be very careful about the direction of bending. If I bend in the wrong direction the jaws will deflect quite a bit.But these are made differently, and I believe are made of a harder steel too. The way the arms of the pliers fit together at the pivot is that one arm has a notch at the center, and the other arm fits inside that notch. Whereas my other pliers' arms are mirror images of each other, one on one side and the other on the other side of the pivot point. That's why the other pliers deflect so much when you twist in the wrong direction: all the stress is on the rivet holding the jaws together. But these have a stronger design for the pivot, and since it's symmetrical you can twist either way. Much better. The jaws are also longer, which gives both a larger diameter at the big end and also a more gradual taper, both of which are nice. The only negative is that they have a slightly larger "small" end, so it's harder to make very small loops in the wire. Since I almost always use a heavier gauge wire it's not a big deal for me, but if I was working with very fine wire it's be an annoyance. And I don't miss the wire cutter at all: with stainless steel all those style cutters are worthless. I use a memory wire cutter, which has lasted for years, whereas even top-notch diagonal or side cutters like Klein dull very quickly. All in all these are really great for rosary work, even with very stiff wire.

When I purchased these, the two different descriptions on the page (the one next to the picture of the product and then the product description down the page a bit) said different styles. But it seems they say the same now. These are fine point round-nosed pliers that will allow you to make very small loops and spirals, exactly what I wanted. I haven't used them much so far, but they seem to be sturdy and work well. I'm satisfied with them.

I was a bit worried about buying these because they're so low-priced, but they're actually remarkably good pliers. Much higher quality than a similarly priced pair of generic pliers I got while I was waiting for these to arrive. As another reviewer said, they're probably not for really heavy wire, but I generally don't work with anything thicker than 16-18 gauge, so it's not a problem for me. The tips taper to about a millimeter at their smallest, so these are great for forming precise loops or detail work.If you have large hands, the handles might be a bit small, but then again, these are micro pliers.
