I will not use these Carabiners for climbing at all, but I thing the are well made and have a a very smooth finish allowing rope to run smoothly. I can totally use these for rigging hammocks, or camping seats. I also can use it with with my dog leash. My husband uses for boating activities and he is very happy with these Carabiners
