This doesnt close all the way, and the tea falls out so it defeats the purpose. RETURNING this item

These will work fine for large loose leafed teas. But my have some peppermint tea and comes through the rather large gaps between the two halves. It snaps closed fine, but there are significant gaps that let the leaves out into the water to the point of being undrinkable

I’m trying to get into tea so I bought some loose leaf tea and I bought these for the loose leaf tea. They get the job done. Hold a lot. But small leaves and stuff do/can get through the mesh. Still a decent purchase.

We have used tea defusers, or tea balls, before. They were similar to the ones that are advertised here. You open the ball, fill one side with tea, and close the clasp. The ones we received had bent clasps causing loose tea to spill and not fully secure the tea when steeping. Their general function is good, but be aware that the clasps may need to be finagled. We still use them, as the clasps can be adjusted, but once again, be aware that you may want to check that out before placing in the loose tea.

I bought this within the year. The first thing I noticed was it doesn't close flush. So even herbs that aren't tiny, leak into the tea while it's steeping. I also don't like that it started changing colors relatively fast. It's not like the color of a penny. I have gold knives, scissors, and spoons that I use regularly and that were bought way before this and none of them look like this.

Difficult to close and lock. Tea leaves spill out even when it is locked properly. Hinges are really loose. Does not come with the rest tray like picture. Not sure if the description says it it does or not but at this point we’ve already wasted both our time and it’s not worth looking. Don’t be cheap like me, buy something better.

These strainers are made with a tight seal on the sides which can be hard to find in stores. Love the bright gold coloring! Speedy shipping and excellent packaging! Will order more!
