I was very worried ordering this shelf after reading the reviews about how difficult it was to put together and how flimsy it is. I didn't have this experience. It's not the most expensive unit (minor scratches on edges, screws that show) but it is definitely strong and easy to put together (if you've put together any IKEA furniture, you'll be fine, but you need two people). It looks beautiful against the wall. I have a salt lamp (10lbs) and my husbands ashes (10+lbs) on the two lower shelves and it holds both without issue. I would absolutely recommend this ladder shelf to anyone. It's strong and attractive.

Christmas gift for my wife. Using it for plants. Only problem was one bolt was a little off the threading but was able to make it work. Careful not to over tighten the screws, and bolts. Placed padding on top two rails to protect the wall , rubber pads to help with sturdiness on the floor.

I was so excited to find these bookshelves after a worthy hunt. I'll start with the positive; they were affordable and sturdy (if assembled accurately). Now my journey...each assemble was a drastically different experience. I'll preface by saying that I'm a novice at this sort of stuff. The first bookshelf was a nightmare, the directions provided did not provide enough visuals to support my novice experience. It was difficult to determine top/bottom and left/right (shading would have helped). Therefore, I assembled the shelves backwards. Then, I didn't insert the dowels, which left the shelf unstable and the shelves slant. (I totally own this part). The brackets are made of a material that isn't very durable (while I had no issues with them, read the rest of the reviews-I knew going in that I had to be very careful). Nonetheless, with a few nails hammered in, I made it work. The second bookshelf assembly went perfect (I had learned all the lessons from messing up the first one). The finished product also showed the silver screws on the outside (which I hate). Through all of that, I would still recommend this to purchase. The finished look is really nice.I've included a picture of the second one. Recommendation for Tangkula: (1)add more details to the instructions, (2)graciously send this consumer a new bookshelf at a discounted price.

It was very easy to assemble. I decorated mine. It’s not the sturdiest.... but it’s never fallen over. It’s strong enough to set decorations on. But I definitely wouldn’t use it to put heavy stuff on.

I ordered these because I was looking for something open and compact and sturdy for a nursery. The package arrived on time but sadly one of the bolts was damaged and another one was missing all together. I contacted the company and they were excellent. They shipped me out a new bag of fixtures immediately. I really like the solid materials. It is a very sturdy shell for the price and good quality. I looked all round town for something similar and nothing’s was as sturdy as this. I will be using safety furniture wall straps to prevent toppling, since they are going in a nursery, but really, gravity will probably hold them well.

This doesn't even deserve 1 star. Pieces came damaged, scratched, they sent a crooked screw, and because it's so cheap the alignment is all off so I couldn't even finish putting it together. I would have been way better off going to ikea. I understand it is inexpensive but I've dealt with cheap products before that you could at least assemble and didn't come damaged! There was a huge mark that looks like someone spilled white paint on it and the shelf is black! It's also not easy to disassemble and a big inconvenience to return!

Overall the product is good for its money, it looks nice when assembled and is sturdy.With that being said, there are a few problems with this product. First, one of the shelves was stained yellow, and it was unable to be removed or wiped off. Second, one of the ladder arms has a piece of wood chipping off. Thankfully, since the chip is towards the back, it is able to be hidden. Third, there was a missing hole for the screw for one of the shelves, so I wasn’t able to install that shelf, as you can see in the picture (ladder to the right). Fourth, this was NOT that easy to assemble. The first ladder took me a bit over an hour. I’m only writing this review so the producers can make sure they’re handing out quality product.

So our family just moved to a new house and we needed to but a lot of furniture. When I was browsing through Amazon I saw this and I thought it would look very nice in our living room, and as I predicted, it looked great. All of the pieces came undamaged and it was very easy to assemble. It does not require any technical skills to assemble this together! It can also hold a lot of items on it and it really fits in well with the white colored theme of our living room. I would 100% recconmed this item to you if you are looking for something that’s modern, doesn’t take up a lot of space, and also very spacious for books and other supplies!

The first shelf I was sent didn’t hold weight and some of the shelves didn’t lay flat. Upon hearing this the company sent me a replacement right away. This bookshelf is perfect and I could not be happier with the product and the company’s excellent customer service. Highly recommend this product!

I adore this ladder bookcase. As you can see in the picture, it is very much in use. It is sturdy, takes up very little room, but has tons of space to set things on. At first, it looked a little daunting as far as putting it together, but just follow the directions and take your time. Everything was in the packet and the directions were easy to follow. Once I got started it was together in no time. Everyone that comes into my home comments on it immediately and my sister and best friend asked for the link to buy their own. The bff already has one in her dinning room now and sister is getting one after the holidays. It is definitely a strong, stylish piece of useful furniture and I am buying another one for the other side of the tv. I love it! So much nicer than the traditional bulky bookcase.
