So, I bought this for an old Sony a6100 mirrorless camera. The sharpness is not that sharp; it's just okay.

The only valuable items in this bundle are the lens and the hard shell case. The rest of the accessories are of very poor quality. The air blower has a hole in it, so it doesn’t work. The mini tripod is made of very cheap plastic and is covered in a sticky substance, as are the plastics on the wrist strap clip. The bag is no better; the quality is terrible, I wouldn’t store my camera in it even in my worst nightmares. And inflating the bags is an impossible task.

If you're still debating on which zoom lens to get, know that this is a great 17 to 70 mm focal length lens that's amazing for landscapes, portraits, wedding, travel, and so much more. And if you're into videography, check out DreamDuo Films review on Youtube. This lens is really a great balance between photography, videography, and price to performance!I recently did candid photo's of a traditional Hmong wedding with a 30mm prime lens, which was great, but missed so many great oppertunities due to the lack in focal length. Now this lens isn't as sharp as a Prime Lens, but it doesn't mean its a bad lens. If you're not pixel peeping, this 17-70 will exceed your expections in the sharpest of ways! Photo's shot in auto mode can be lacking but once you get to tuning the settings in manual mode, and used to lens capabilities, the pictures will looks so much sharper, and cleaner! I highly recommend learning the photography triangle of Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO, to better fine tune the images quality. There was also the option of going with a Sigma 18-50 that was a lot smaller, lighter, and cheaper, but because of the Tamrons VC image stabilization, I opted for Tamrons to pair with my Sony A6400.BTW, the included kit was a nice bonus add on bundle. Kit comes in a hard case that holds a hand air blaster for dust and lint that is a must for every photographer, SD Card, microfiber cloth and pouches, wrist strap, and a hand held mount that also doubles as a table stand! A back pack bag with a inflatable insert is also included in the bundle, which I don't think I will be using.Attached are view angles of how this Tamron lens looks like on the Sony A6400 body, and some photo's during winter to help display its picture quality. All in all I think anyone can appreciate this lens and will stay on their camera for a long time. Stay capturing one moment at a time and enjoy!

The amazing optics at 2.8 through this range (which is 50% longer than a FF 24-70) is one must have lens for indoor and night shoots. Or you can spend double on the Sony G equivalent if you want. I have the Sony power zoom 18-105mm f4 which I use much more for video. But portraits and lower light, this is the goto.

If you have an aps-c body this might be your go to lens for everything. The 17mm is wide enough to vlog and the 70mm is great stopped down. The optimal range is between 24 and 50mm in my opinion. Very sharp lens and it has some weight to it but if you have an aps-c body with a cage or battery grip it will give you a better grip on your camera. Great buy. Only con I have with this lens is when I shoot in wide focus area mode it use contrast focus in which I don’t like. On my Sigma 30mm prime it focuses great. If Tamron can fix that I think it would be great.Update I had the lens for about a week and although it was good to vlog and do some video with I found it not as sharp in terms of photography even stop down. I thought it would be especially against my sigma 30mm which came out almost eight years ago. So I would say good for video not so much for photography.

I got this lens to replace my Sony 18-105mm f4 on my Sony a6400. I was hesitant because it didn't have the reach the 18-105mm had but I quickly moved on due to that sweet a@@ f2.8 apeture! I think the lens is also sharper. The focusing is about the same compared to the Sony or I haven't noticed any issues with it. I get great focusing just about every time. I don't manual focus that much but I also have very little to complain about.I've been out in the rain, snow, and the beach and it keeps on kicking. No issues so far. I've also banged mine a but and again, no issues. The one thing I do miss is the electronic apeture control but with practice I really don't care anymore. Also, if you like the AEL side button or any on lenses, you'll be a bit disappointed that this one has none. But you'll get better with that convoluted mess that is the Sony menu.Again, this is by far better in low light than the Sony and let's talk about that bokeh. It's not "professional" but it's pretty darn close and far better than the f4 the Sony offers up. You can watch all the YouTube videos on comparisons to more expensive lenses but don't waste your time or money. Its butter and it does catseye but again, it's 2.8!The only lenses that are better are the Sigma trio but you'd have to carry three lenses vs just this one. I have two of the three Sigmas (16 and 30).I've paired this with the Sigma 100-400mm and it's basically all I use anymore. This lens is on my Sony a6400 90% of the time. I also leave the Tiffen 1/8 black pro mist filter on it all the time for that cinematic look. This IS the lens to get for your Sony APS-C.Images have been edited in Lightroom.
