The venting helps to keep me from getting too warm in a hot kitchen and keeps deserting hairs from ending up in the cooking. It's lightweight so it's very comfortable and being adjustable is also much appreciated.

Purchased this chef hat to cover my head while visiting Southeast Asia. It works wonderfully and easily folds into a pocket or purse. Its meshed top allows some air circulation.

I was disappointed in this hat, the adjustability of it was not sufficient - my head is too big or the hat is too small. It also seems overpriced for this little tiny bit of fabric.

I worked five years cooking in a restaurant kitchen and had tried various hats and hair restraints. Cooking only at home now, I've found this hat to be the most comfortable, coolest hat I've tried. I attribute the heat dissipation to the open mesh top which still gives my hair visual "cover."~Negative: (hence the missing fifth star) the rear hook-and-loop (Velcro?) tab was recessed from the edge of the hat band so much (about ¾ inch) that I couldn't close the rear fastener on my XL(7-5/8) head. Had the one end been brought to the edge, it would have been fine. I carefully cut the stitching and then refastened the H&L tab close to the edge with fabric adhesive (so much quicker and less tedious than sewing), also available on Amazon: ~Despite the criticism, I'm ordering a second one.

These hats are always too big on me. This one is adjustable and has a ponytail hole.

Love it! Bought it in white and black. The rest of my staff likes mine so much that I plan on buying each a hat just like mine! Love the mesh top- I don't seem to over heat as much
