The piece that you thread the screw into that secures your brakes to the fork are bent and smashed.

I did a custom paint and rebuild of my daughter’s Trek hybrid and replaced a cheap Suntour fork with this. I’m very satisfied with the results after painting and building up the bike. Recommend highly.

Fits this Nashbar mountain bike (Fuji frame I think). I needed threadless 1 1/8" tube and V-brake mounts, 26" wheel. Originally, the bike had a "zoom" brand shock that was bouncy and soft, and my son is using it in a triathlon, so I thought I'd get him a carbon fiber rigid fork. Too expensive, and no v-brake mounts. Amazon had this steel one that felt a little lighter than the zoom. I transferred the rack, then the brakes, then hit the old fork out with a rubber hammer. collected the spacers and bearings, and put the new one in and drew a line where it came out of the top spacer. I cut it with a metal band saw, and put everything together and its a nice upgrade!

I was converting an old MTB to an e-bike and wound up destroying the dropouts on the original aluminum fork. I thought this fork would be a good replacement as it's steel. It has a great fit and finish, it's sturdy and surprisingly light for a steel fork, but most importantly it's holding up to the torque that the 1200 watt hub motor is putting out. Even the brake arms swapped over to this fork with no modifications needed.

For the price of this fork I was really surprised at how well it is constructed and just how meaty it feels without being too heavy. I got an old mountain bike without a fork and decided to build it up to be a commuter as opposed to building it for the trail. I was unaware that rigid forks that are replacing suspension forks should be suspension corrected meaning that the stance of the bike is the same height as when it had suspension except now on a rigid fork. Either way this fork worked just fine and my “old” mountain bike feels like a grown up bmx bike. Mind you I haven’t pushed it to it’s limits to stress test it but hoping onto and off of curbs and bunny hopping over curbs the fork works just fine. Very happy with my purchase.Note about seller: The first item sent to me was incorrect. Somehow I got a tire tube instead of a fork. No matter though. Within a day of contacting the seller they apologized and sent out the correct item and even let me keep the tube. Had to wait a bit longer to finish my project but again I was happy with the fork so no harm done. Great seller.

I wasn't expecting much for the cheapest fork available out there, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fork is lighter than I expected and is machined adequately. Fits perfectly - it's not suspension adjusted and I knew that going in. I was replacing an old cheap Suntour suspension fork that had seen it's better days and the decreased fork length was welcomed. It matched my all black gloss frame perfectly and gave my mountain bike more of a traditional road bike position since it was about 1.5" shorter. I'm mating it with some drop bars so that I can use it like a cyclocross bike. Couldn't be happier.

I looked all over online for the axle to crown length for this fork and several other rigid forks without success. I bought this to replace a worn out RST springy fork on my 2005 Trek 3700. The steerer length on the RST is 267mm and the axle to crown (without weight on it) length is 438mm to the center of the axle. This SUNLITE fork is shorter than what it replaced. Steerer length is 260 which is OK because I just left off a spacer at the top and it tightened up great. My MAIN COMPLAINT is that it is about 1.75 inches shorter than the fork it replaced. Axle to crown measurement on this SUNLITE fork is about 393mm from the center of the axle to where the crown race fits on at the bottom of the steerer tube. After installing it, it seems to ride OK and handling is good. I did have to cut about a half inch off the end of my kickstand (yes I use one) to make up for the lower front rake and shorter height of the bike. If I had known it was this much shorter than stock, I would have spent the extra $20 to get a "suspension corrected" fork or one with less of a difference. I even called the vendor directly and asked for this measurement and they said they did not know what it was and that this fork should fit just fine. IN CONCLUSION, I will probably keep it because I already installed it, but you may want to keep looking.

Got this to replace the tired old Rock Shox on my mid-1990's vintage StumpJumper as I converted it to a commute bike. After reading about how to replace a front fork, I thought I could pull it off, but I was a bit nervous, as I was going to do it without the special tool. Well, it actually went pretty well and I'm happy with the new fork. I used an appropriate diameter PVC pipe to hammer on the crown race. It's not light, but light enough. It can handle the old centerpull brakes that I have. One thing you will need on some bikes to use this is a fork mounted brake cable hangar, another $10. Overall, quite pleased.
