I bought these outside of Amazon but would checked reviews here and other places first. No one mentioned their heat output that I saw. I'm using these to grow temperature carnivorous plants in a terrarium and they are way too hot. They can raise the temperature inside my little glass enclosure (open wire on the top) by ten degrees Fahrenheit in less than an hour. I thought LED would mean they'd be very cool but that isn't the case. Learned my lesson I guess. If you need something that won't raise the temperature at all, these aren't your best bet. Probably something with a ballast is where I'm heading next.

I have two 2-foot Sunblaster prism lights that are positioned 5 inches away from my 20 different varieties of succulents, spaced 6 inches apart. I purchased these lights in March 2023 and have them on for 16 hours a day using an automatic timer. The succulents are growing compactly with no stretching and show light stress colors, albeit not as intense as some more expensive ones with higher output. I describe the stress color as light because, even after 10 months, the leaves of my paddle plant are only slightly red. Additionally, they can go for weeks without being watered, indicating the strong light but not enough to induce the deep, beautiful stress colors typically seen from more expensive grow lights. All but one succulent have thrived. My Ghost plant succulents continue to stretch. Among the 20 species of succulents that have done well are Cotyledon orbiculata CV, variegated Cotyledon orbiculata (aka Unicorn Poop), Sedum firestorm, Graptosedum Alpenglow, Kalanchoe tomentosa (aka panda plant), Dudleya white greenei, Kalanchoe thyrsiflora (aka paddle plant), Echeveria sugar heart, Donkey tail, string of heart, string of pearl, variegated bear claw, Echeveria romeo, Echeveria perle von nurnberg, Echeveria prolifica, and Echeveria purpusorum, to name a few. 19 out of 20 succulents are compact and show some form of stress color. The only one still stretching slightly is my Ghost plant, even under 16 hours of light per day for 10 months, positioned 5 inches away from the light with 2 LED lights. I also want to mention that these grow lights at 5 inches away are too strong for low-light plants like Haworthia cooperi, obtusa, and cymbiformis if you have them too close. The leaves stress intensely almost to the point that it looks burnt. But more than a foot away should be fine.

I have the LEDs and Nano T5s for growing Hoyas but really like these prismatics. The brightness is in between the two I mentioned above, but the light looks slightly different.I hung 3 in my 3x2ft tent and a few in my cabinets that I mixed with their other lights. No issues so far.

I've bought like a dozen of these from different sources, they work great, run cheap and are easy to link together. I use them for indoor hydroponics and terrariums.

I love the Sunblaster LED especially that it comes in 2 ft. I already own one & needed to add one due to my exuberance in seed starting. It was easy to place the clips and hang on wire shelving for seed starting. I used the clips with holes that slide onto the top comes in your packaging, add zip ties, attach to wire shelf above and you are all set.Pros- fantastic bright lights/linkable(link cable in pkg)/no heat to speak of due to LED stripHope this helps!
