Your cart is empty.Pro-Graad SuperGrindz Strip and Clean Abrasive Drums are designed to strip, clean, prep, and smooth surfaces without damaging the underlying material. These 4.5" x 4" x 3/4" (115x100x19mm) drums are made with black nylon webbing infused with extra coarse silicon carbide abrasive grains, allowing for a sharp cut without applying a lot of pressure. The open web design and silicon carbide grains make these drums suitable for applications like paint stripping, weld cleaning, rust removal, and more. They also offer a greater sanding surface area than wire wheels or strip and clean discs for angle grinders, which can shorten operator work time on larger jobs. The drums are affixed with a hub that fits a 3/4" keyed shaft and are meant to be used on Polisher Sander Wire Drawing Machines.

I bought this on advice of another. I had large expanses of sheetmetal with paint. Since I already had the tool, I purchased this item.It worked and did not clog. But it was painfully slow. I ended up using a DA and used this abrasive roll to help reduse the worst swirls.I gave 4 stars because it did work, just not as I expected from the description.

The invention of this style of burnishing machine was a great advance for metal stripping and finishing. But the tool would not be nearly as useful if it wasn't for these 40 grit drums. This grit of drum for this style tool is a workhorse that makes it my favorite for stripping paint and rust from automotive panels. It works far better than any other method that I have used, as well as being much quicker. Besides the drums working so well they also wear like iron and I stripped all the body panels on a 50's MG with a single drum and still had some left for the next project. If you do any amount of metal refinishing or auto body work and you don't have one of these tools, you are missing out. You need the tool only so you can use it with a 40 grit drum.
