I use Yozuri and Vanish as leaders and mainline on baitcasters… I tried the Stren Flurocast on a baitcaster and it constantly had back lashes and tangled, then it broke. It was 15lb that I tested. I am a Stren user for spinning reels for trout but this floro doesn’t cut it…..update -/. I rewound the line on the baitcaster and took up some slack that was not noticed previously and was able to cast a crankbait several times with no problems and was very smoothe. Revised from 1 to 3 stars…

Great line at the best price, pulled up a 9 lb bonnet head shark up to the pier using this line as a leader. No complaints at all.

I have tried other Brand name fluorocarbon line.Found Stren to wear and strength to be a preference.I would recommend this line for lighter weight up to 12# test. I found anything heavier a little difficult to control on bait casters and highly recommend swivels to eliminate line twist on spin casters.Anything heavier I use Power Pro or Berkeley braided 30# or higher depending on application with weeds and Hydrilla. This lines (all fluorocarbons) sinks so is not recommended for top water. I suggest Mono or Berkeley Fusion for top water as mono is less apt to sink and even less apt for same of Berkeley Fusion. Berkeley Fusion is much thinner than either for strength although will skin the surface coat in rough cover, etc. and will shorten your cast due to the nature of the product. Some memory with fluorocarbon, little to no memory with braided or Fusion.Catch more fish..“Big Fish” Rick

Casts great. It has more sensitivity than monofilament line. I am no longer breaking my line when setting the hook on a fish.

I normally use monofilament but wanted to give this florocarbon line a try. Right of the bat I noticed a few diffrences. The good: -Line is hard to see when its in water. I like that a lot. Not much difference outside of water than mono.-Its very responsive & more easily transfers nibbles and bites from fish to the rod tip.-It's clear line adding to its "invisibility"- It has less line memory than mono. The bad - Its stiff to cast- It snarles more easily due to its stiffness & lack of too little line memory (when cast it comes off the reel too fast and can jumble up. The same effect you get from mono if you overspool your fishing reel.)- It's still quite pricey fishing line.- It's more difficult to knot than mono. I've been using the same fisherman's knot for years. It's a great knot but the line doesn't like it. It's difficult to get the knot to bunch up to the hook with this line. I may have to learn a new knot just for this line. The unknown -Abrasive resistance (Such as drift wood, logs, and sharp corners when dragging line over obstacles...)- Stretch and rebound (The lines ability to maintain durability after a hard hook set.) "I heard" it's not good but I've had no problems thus far.
