I ordered based on the part number in my Sta-Rite manual and knowing I needed a square-cut seal (square cross-section) I looked for an image that confirmed this. Although the image in the ad showed square, what arrived was a round cross-section seal and the diameter is much smaller that what is needed. The diameter of what I received was only about 5 or 6 inched. This part number is for the large o-ring that gets "clamped" together to hold the 2 halves of the pump, so it should be much larger.

This is not a square 1/4” gasket as pictured AND in the written description. This is a round cross section.Equally frustrating is support saying no it’s supposed to be round your existing one “took a set and is now square”. Lol.

The seal plate requires a square o-ring seal with a flat surface. Impossible to install vertically as the plate sits! Round o-rings may work on later model seal plates but no this 1998 seal plate.

Its different from my original seal as the original was kind of a J seal. But this worked just fine and sealed it up.
