I needed a pair of nylon jawed jewellers pliers so, after much research, I felt that these ones from Spire Tools would be best suited to my needs. I do like the build quality and the fact that they are double spring-loaded, the nylon jaws can also be replaced. They feel comfortable in the hand, the jaws are nicely aligned, and they have an attractive finish to them. I’m using them mainly for various hobby crafts, though I have recently used them to successfully straighten (with applied heat) a bent silver coin I found whilst metal detecting (an Elizabeth I Sixpence, dated 1574). Anyway, I’m confident these should provide me with many years service. If you’re seeking a reliable, well-made pair of pliers, then look no further because I have no hesitation in recommending these ones from Spire.

One of the nylon tips had fallen off when I received it. I was able to put it back on, but the two tips don’t align really great. It will work for the purpose I have for it.

Very sturdy and I bought these rather than the cheaper ones as it had silicon on them.

The screws that hold the nylon inserts keep falling out. They don't seem to be screwed into anything. They are not long enough to go into the nylon, and the holes in the metal jaws are smooth. It looks like the jaws and screws were glued in. But after using the pliers once or twice the glue separates and the screws just fall out.
