It’s super dull. It’s not sharp at all. It’s also made in China. Big surprise. Amazon really needs to list the origin country of all products clearly at the top of the specs. This is like a movie replica prop it’s so dull.

I like the length and weight compared to other machetes I have. The plastic handles and cheap sheaths are the main issues that I see. This is one you can carry and use if needed. This is the one I will use to clear out stubborn brush in the yard.

Came reasonably sharp. Works great. A little on the heavy side which has it's pros and cons. A heavier machete blade works better but it's more tiring to swing if your spending more than a half hour swinging it through thick brush.I like it for the price. Would by it again.

Should have known at the price point that this was not good quality. But enough reviews convinced me to take a chance.First off the Steel is of poor quality. It arrived poorly sharpened...and it took a lot of patience to get a good edge on it. It really fails trying to cut light brush...it flexes and deflects badly rather than cutting into the brush. After only a few swings it loses its edge. The handle is slippery and the hole to attach a wrist string is located in the completely wrong place. Using it gives you hot spots and your hand wants to slip forward and back with ease. The sheath was an incredible cheap joke...never saw something so poorly made.I got home after the first afternoon trying to use it and promptly threw it away. Junk.If you are looking for a perfect in the middle quality/price point blade, pay the extra 20-ish bucks and get a Fiskar.

There were lots of reviews saying how dull the blade was but mine sliced through 2" Pines, spruce and alder like it was butter. It lost a star due to the handle starting to come loose after half hour of use.

I saw some really crappy reviews on this machete, but I have to say, after using it 3 times in some heavy heavy brush, it’s doing fantastic. Did I expect it to be as strong as a samurai sword?... nope! Did I pay as much as I would for a sword?... not even close! The blade hasn’t bent, warped, or chipped and I’ve cut down several 4” diameter trees. It doesn’t stay sharp, but not machete I’ve ever had stays sharp when cutting trees and hardwood limbs. The handle is sturdy and comfortable. The saw built into the spine cuts decent. It could be a little more aggressive on the spine, but it works.

I've used it for a couple weeks now, several times a week, for maybe half an hour, and I've never been let down. Some people say it's too heavy, but it's only a little heavier than my last machete and I've never been fatigued by it. I cleared maybe half a mile so far through thick brush. It was flawless with anything from tall grass to saplings maybe two inches wide. One of the best things about this machete is the quality of the blade. There's stainless steel, high carbon steel, and then high carbon stainless steel, each with different qualities. I don't have time to explain the differences but this blade seems to be high carbon stainless steel due to how it keeps it's edge, it's weight, and how it never rusts.Due to my terrain, the blade has bounced off a couple hidden rocks when clearing low brush (causing me to wince each time). This has resulted in some dents, but nothing major, and definitely not taking anything away from the blade's effectiveness.I did use the saw-edge a couple times and was very pleased with it. It's actually a very well forged, well serrated saw that goes through solid oak pretty quickly. Every time I use it sawdust goes EVERYWHERE, but that just shows how effective it is.The only drawback is the handle. I got a few blisters due to how the plastic is moulded - blisters which I never got with my old machete, knives, shovel, or axe, despite hours of use with each. I got similar blisters with a hatchet I used for a while, so I guess it's just normal with a new tool. Still a 5 star tool.
