Unusually for England it hasn’t rained since this item arrived (!) so I cannot comment on the protective quality of this dog coat.I ordered the 4 XL for my Labrador x GSD and it just about fits her (she weighs around 31kg). I know these things tend to run on the small side, so best to get bigger than you think!It’s very lightweight and with the Velcro adjustable straps it goes on quite easily - the Velcro is quite strong and therefore noisy, so be aware of that if you have a sound sensitive dog.Once on my dog did not like the hood at all - sadly this isn’t detachable but it can be fastened back slightly using press studs, which lifts it away from the head.There is a very small slit near the neck for the lead to attach through to the collar, but I think unless your dog is walking in a straight line the whole time, any sideways movement will cause the coat to twist around. It’s also a very small hole, so not sure if a chunkier clip would easily fit. If not using the hood then the lead can be attached to the collar as normal but this does then give a lot of bunching at the back of the neck.Overall it’s a nice colour and will hopefully offer some protection from the rain but the few design problems might become annoying for some.

It’s cute but ran small. I have a pug about 20lbs and got a Large. it didn’t fit, too tight on the Velcro and the length was also short

I recently adopted a 14-pound Chihuahua mix. Her fur is short, so weather protection is desired. I laughed out loud when I saw this bright yellow duck motif.There are Velcro straps along the neck and under the belly for securing the coat. My dog wasn't crazy about the hood but she tolerated it. There are two elastic loops to secure the coat around the back legs. Hooking a regular leash under the collar may be a bit challenging but is doable.The fabric is water resistant but may not prevent moisture from leaking through over a long period. Good enough for quick jaunts outside in bad weather. And definitely worth the smiles to be generated in the fun costume.Sizing said "large" but it fit comfortably on the 14 pound pup with some room for a larger animal, but I don't think this will work for dogs 30 pounds plus. I received a free sample, and this is my own opinion.
