Description says 1-1/2 inch. I measured about 1-5/8 inch (actually diameter varies between1.623 to 1.638 inches). They are a fraction under 12 inches long, good enough. Surface has a whitish mottled pattern I'm hoping will disappear when I turn these down to the 1.5-inch rod size I need. If turning doesn't reveal plain black, I'll update this review. Good news is oversize is better than under.
