If you're doing a timing belt replacement on a Toyota, this is the tool you need. I know if works for the 2UZ-FE V8's, not sure if it fits for other engines. Anyway, this tool makes cracking and re-tightening the harmonic damper pulley a breeze. I've replaced the timing belt on 2 2UZ-FE motors, the fist time without this tool and the second time with the tool. Hands down it's the only way to go. The tool is a bit expensive for what you get, but it is a massive heavy piece of steel that will last forever, and makes the job soooo much easier.

Little over priced but must have to remove and re-tourqe front crankshaft bolt. Mounting bolts a little long, had to add a few washers as the bolts go all the way through harmonic balancer and hit timing belt plastic cover. Heavy Duty tool. Worked for 2007 4runner 2uz-fe, v-8.

I used this on a 3sgte gen 3 engine for my 1994 Toyota mr2. With the engine out, and trying an impact wrench I had no more options other than to take off the transmission which would’ve added a lot more work. Luckily I found this by searching on google. It was not even mentioned in the mr2 owners forums. The bolts for the tool fit in the holes on the pulley but weren’t fully secured (i don’t think there’s thread in it) but it was secured enough for me to put a extension through the hole to hold it against the engine block. And with a breaker bar I was able to get the crankshaft pulley bolt off with ease. Thank you! This saved me hours and money!

I helped a friend replace the timing belt in a 2004 Toyota Tundra with the 4.7 liter V-8. Before starting, I watched a few You Tube videos to get an idea of the scope of the job. The videos of 2 by 4's bolted to the pulley or holding the pulley with a chain wrench looked pretty sketchy :-) After reading the reviews of this tool, I ordered one. It arrived quickly and I quickly noticed it is very well built. The crank bolt was a little stubborn, but it eventually spun out with a 1/2 inch drive impact wrench and a 22 mm impact socket. When it came time to install the pulley, we bolted the Schley tool to the pulley with the two provided bolts, plugged a 24 inch 1/2 inch drive breaker bar into the tool and oriented the breaker bar up inside the engine compartment. My friend held the breaker bar up top, while I climbed underneath and torqued the crank nut to 181 foot pounds. The whole process was quick and painless. There was no cracking of 2 by 4's and no chain marks in the pulley :-)This is a heavy duty tool and will last forever. It is perfect for this job.

I used this tool with a 25" breaker bar to hold the pulley and then a 250 ft lb torque wrench on the bolt. Torque wrench rested against the floor. It cracked the bolt loose right away. I also used the same setup to tighten it back to 181 ft lb. This tool makes life a lot easier. It's just too expensive. Don't turn the screw all the way in. The screws are too long, them will go into the plastic cover behind the pulley.

This tool fits many Toyota products but I used it on a 2JZGE engine. It is used to hold the harmonic balancer in place while the bolt is removed and for holding things in place when reinstalling the bolt. The tool is very well built from high strength metal and the bolts it comes with thread perfectly into the holes in the harmonic balancer. I used it without any problems and it still looks new. Even the paint did not get a single scratch on it. Be sure you have 2 high quality breaker bars (1/2 inch) on hand. One breaker bar will snap into the tool and the other will go into the socket that opens the bolt that goes into the crankshaft.

Great tool for removing the old harmonic balancer, but expensive... however, it made the job a breeze. You do need a breaker bar to hold this thing once it is screwed in, so you may need one more to break loose the bolt on the harmonic balancer. I chanced it with mine and used a 3/4 ratchet and a long steel pipe and it broke loose, but I think I came this >

Five stars for working perfectly, and minus two for an outrageous price.I bought this to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt on a 2001 Toyota Sienna XLE with a 1MZ-FE 3.0L V6 engine. It works fine as long as you have a long enough breaker bar to brace against the floor. It just costs too damn much for a hunk of cast metal! Sure, it is nicely epoxy coated, but still....I had the same job to do on my 2005 Acura TL and the tool I bought for it, from Amazon, was a that only cost $15.52 and worked perfectly. It works on the same principal as this Schley Toyota tool, and likewise requires a long breaker bar, but costs a third as much. Not surprisingly the same Acura tool by Schley likewise costs three times as much as the Powerbuilt.Yes, I know a great number of tool brands are likewise outrageously priced. Doesn't mean we should put up with it.
