Perfect cover solution for our small to medium sized Eagle Creek backpack. We like to pack light and be mobile with our multi-leg air travel adventures. A Travelon 'under the seat roll-a-board' and our medium sized Eagle Creek backpack are our go to travel companions. But sometimes, the cleanliness of the floor under the seats in front of us is less than ideal. So Voila - here comes the Salzmann 3M Reflective Waterproof Weatherproof Rucksack Cover to the rescue! With high quality straps (2) which are better designed and run left to right (or East to West) instead of top to bottom (or North to South). Thus the Salzmann straps don't impede the use of the handle at the top of the back pack, which is key when boarding a plane. With the Salzmann cover we can keep the fabric on the backpack clean; tuck the straps out of the way, and the slippery fabric makes for ease in sliding maneuverability. I bought yellow size Large for a 40-liter pack that measures 21" top-to-bottom where it touches my back. The cover fit well when the pack was 1/2 full. When the pack was very full, the cover is not big enough. In the picture you can see that it pulls down and exposes the top of the pack to rain. Measuring over the arc--over the load--with a fabric tape, the pack is 33" but the cover is only 29.5".I used the Large for a year. I bicycle commute in the rain all winter. The cover kept me visible in traffic and it kept my office clothes dry if I didn't stuff the pack. I kept using it in the summer for visibility.I recently started carrying more stuff. That gap in coverage at the top became a problem, as the pack has a pocket there for my phone and wallet. So I bought an orange size XL. It's a better fit when the pack is really full.

Fits my 60L backpack and could probably fit over and 80L. Very reflective and easy to use. Great product. đ

Fits great with my backpack and yes it is waterproof it was tested during heavy down pour riding on a motorcycle. Also love the bright color you can see it from far away.

now if only the xl i got was really xl. isnt this supposed to be more roomy tocover. this fits very very tight around my bag tbut i still need to get my rain coat and a fleece jacket to fit inside anyway and this thing kills any hope. im using a 40L g4 free bag which has its own orange cover but not reflective for roadside needs in probable fog rain and darkness if i need it . i hope i dont . but all the same.damn fine reflecto and the mesh bag on the outside is a winning design for putting on a emergency flasher light system. i expect to be in rain and fog in sonoma in january and if its dark and my car or something hapens i will rely on something that would be perfect for this bag to use. as it stands i wont. hey use s m l and xl ok.standard and XL dont cut it. xl is the one ive tried as i said but still too tight. with my three day need . the bag has to be pretty much only half full to for this to work the way i wan tit to. big enough with some space left over inside the cover. so close to perfect you know. keep making em salzman but really ,make sizing like i request and you got me.too bad. i liked it otherwise. but i need something bigger. as it stands im going with a cheaper bag that is neon and has a horizontal wide stripe but no clip on or pouch to put the light flasher. raincoat and rain pants will hide it.bummer.

Salzmann 3M Reflective Backpack Cover: This product is excellent. I purchased the high visibility yellow color with the 3M reflective material. The design, construction, and price are all well thought out and executed. I like the strap configuration. The cover fits well, and is waterproof. It well may be the best cover out there. Thanks.

As I expected based on the description & photos, and appears to be high quality material & workmanship. It was just delivered, so I can't review it based on actual use yet. I'll probably keep it in my backpack right now for the rainy spring weather. I wanted this because an umbrella does not provide adequate coverage for my backpack during the walking part of my commute. I've experienced rain soaking through my backpack and into its contents on a few occasions. I also might use it for the bike part of my commute. Though I avoid cycling at night & in the rain if I can, I like that it'll increase my visibility and safety if I have to.

I choose this product because of the reflectivity. As i often run home from work in dark in a rainy city, i consider this an important update of my gear.If you can afford, choose the completely reflective version, but this one is great as well.I use this covering two different backpacks and i find it easy to use. I had no problem with the rubber bands.

I bought this rain fly as the backpack I wanted to take as a cabin bag, was too high to fit into the overhead locker. My backpack is quite expensive so I also wanted to protect the backpack while travelling....and the cover would also provide security as it made all the zippered openings unaccessible.It did exactly that, it shaped my backpack to easily fit it the cabin, the material is so sturdy that it protected my bag and created a barrier for pickpockets. I did not use it in the rain, but it appears to be quite weather proof...and my most favourite feature (not all rain flies come with straps) was the 2 straps that secured the cover on the bag and it stayed on place.It also has a pocket for a water bottle.Perfect for what I wanted it to do.
