This is a nice, sturdy range hood vent. All metal construction for the outside with a plastic flange that fits through the wall. It comes with small, narrow roll of foil tape for attaching the in wal flange to the outdoor unit as well as enough white butyl tape for the outside. The flange is quite thick about 1/4". It's thicker than others I have seen, so if you don't like the look of thick flange attached to the side of your RV, you should find another with the thin flange. The thick mounting flange does provide an added sense of security and rigidity. The main vent itself is much thinner material, but still feels very sturdy and expected to last the life of the rv. Finish is nice and looks really good, though I haven't had it installed for long to see if it will fade or yellow, but it looks great right now.

I got this for my self-built campervan. It was easy to install and blends well with my white van. I do with it had a screen to prevent bugs from coming in, however. That seems like a big oversight. Also, the twist lock on the outside is nice for travel, but would be easier if you could lock and unlock it from inside the RV or van. This is a decent deal for the price but check the features to make sure it works for you.

The vent matched the original vent perfectly and should last for the life of the RV. The only minor thing was that when you're done at the end of the day and the wind is blowing, you better go out and flip up the latch. The flapper will drive you crazy because of the noise. And you can only stop it from the outside.

Excellent for white cargo trailer and 6watt 100cfm fan to remove moisture. Wish it has a latch to stay open when fan is off.

This is the second vent cover I've had to replace on my campers over the years. The cheap plastic ones that come on the campers just aren't made to last. The sun dries them out, they get brittle, they warp, the door doesn't close and bugs get in, they are just cheap junk. The one on my current camper is just 4 years old and it has already broken, (a small branch also hit it while backing in to a spot). Now this new one. I was very impressed in how solid it is. I expected it to be some flimsy, thin aluminum that would just bend while screwing it on to the camper. Nope, this has a very strong back plate that doesn't bend or flex. The angled cover is a nice heavy gauge along with the flap. Even better, the flap has a clip to hold it closed during storage to keep bugs or wasps out. It comes with everything needed to install except for some RTV type sealant. (But what RVer doesn't already have that in their arsenal?) Not adding pictures, it would just be redundant with all the others already posted. Just gonna say, as a seasoned RVer, this is a great upgrade over the plastic ones. My 'only' concern would be, if something hits it, the RV would give before this thing. What do you want to break first, the cover or the RV? You decide.

My current range hood vent cover is white plastic that has turned a sad yellowish color over the years. When I saw this alumninum cover I knew it was time for an upgrade.When I opened the box, I would have bet my life that it was plastic, but no! (I'm guessing they cast these from a mold created with a plastic one because it's a dead ringer.) It has a nice matte finish and overall solid feel. The latch to stop the flap from banging during transport is a nice touch.The instructions for installation are clear and well laid out, and the foil tape (should you need it), butyl tape and screws are all included. All you will need to supply is the caulk.The flap from my plastic cover would sometimes flap-a-tap-tap in a breeze. I'm hoping this metal one will be heavy enough that it doesn't do that.This looks so much nicer than my old cover!

Got this to replace a broken plastic one. Never had a metal one and have to say this is far better and of course they are always improving! Looks great and looks just the same basically as all vent covers except this one is metal and will last longer for sure. Has a latch to secure the flap also. Very happy with it and the price point was great for this item. I give it an A+ for quality and construction and appearance!
