Works like prime, but at a fraction of the cost.

If you have an aquarium buy this. I have been buying prime forever and it’s great. However, when you have 2 monster fish tanks and 7 nano fish tanks you go through a significant amount of water conditioner. Seachem safe a concentrated seachem prime. I know my water quality it always perfect the water clarity is clear in my clear water tanks and dark brown in my black water tanks with absolutely no cloudiness. You really can’t beat the quality of any seachem products and this is no different. Extremely easy to use and my only regret is not buying this sooner. So again I say if you keep fish in a box buy this.

This thing stinks to high heaven, but it does what it's supposed to. I suggest putting it in a sealed "ziplock" type of bag to lock the smell in otherwise your entire house will smell.Tremendous value for money commpared to other dechlorinators.

This stuff works really well coming out of winter or until water stabilizes in the spring. This item should have an aluminum seal over the entire top and be completely sealed. Do not use this if it is not sealed. I have read about many fish deaths from this. I have been using this item for 25 years with not a single fish death from the product itself. I would also not buy this from a 3rd party. Either buy it from Amazon and sold by Amazon or through a reputable fish store or pond shop. This item should also smell bad like rotten eggs or sulfur.

I have 3 tanks total; 48, 15 and a 5 gallon. The conversion rate to get the amount I'd need per water change is obscurly small because this stuff is so concentrated, but that's OK with me.I simply wet my small finger, dip it into the product and fill a bucket accordingly with water. Mathematically I'd need 1/24 tsp (or 1/5 gram) to treat 50 gallons, but who can measure that in a normal house. The amount I put in (roughly 1/10 tsp) is ballpark to what the label suggests for treating high ammonia levels. The best part is, the known excess I'm putting into the treated water does a fantastic job of detoxifying ammonia and doesn't negatively impact the fish. It also doesn't have any effect phosphate levels or pH in any way like other products do, especially with the extra I'm likely putting in.I've had the 250 gram container for a few months now and barely put a dent in it. This will likely last me the better part of a year, maybe even two with regular bi-weekly water changes.Way more efficient than using Prime, both financially and in functionality.

I have been using Seachem Safe for over 4 months now. I have a 250 gallon freshwater planted tank and Prime was a very costly affair for me. Switched to Safe and not a single dead fish. Its safe on Shrimps as well. Just 1/4 tea spoon of seachem safe power for my entire 250gallon tank. Awesome Product.

I was originally using Seachem Prime to treat my aquarium water and then reading some forums I discovered Safe and decided to do some research on this. It's essentially the same product as Prime just in dry powdered form and more concentrated so you save money in the long run. This product should last me years even with weekly water changes.I have a 30 gallon tank so whenever I do a water change I usually siphon out about 15% of my water. I then put the dose of Safe into my tank as my bucket isn't very large. If you are changing water in a larger tank, you can also treat each individual bucket as you want but I find it easier to just dose the entire tank and then start adding in the new water after making sure it is the same temperature as the water in my tank. This is especially true if you are using a siphon that hooks up to your sink or hose for quick water changes.I follow the instructions from Seachem's website:Directions for all other sizes (this is different if you buy the 50g or 100g sizes!)Use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 gallons) for ammonia.Since my tank is only 30 gallons I use (1/10) of that dose to treat the entire tank. That ends up being 1/40 of a teaspoon so I had to buy some smaller measuring spoons. I use 1/32 of a teaspoon and have seen no ill effects with using this slightly higher dose as you would be using more for ammonia anyways.I've been using Prime for years and now been using Safe for over a month and have had no issues with my fish and chlorine and they seem very happy and healthy. You can also double or triple this dose in an emergency if you and need to quickly detoxify nitrites and nitrates.

I started out in the fishkeeping hobby using Stress Coat. For reasons of economy and effectiveness, I switched to Seachem's Prime, a much more concentrated product. Safe is the concentrated form of Prime. The jar I bought will treat up to 50,000 gallons of water. That might sound like a lot, but if you have multiple tanks like I do, you can go through it quicker than you think.Safe is easy to use and it seems to be very effective. The price may seem a bit high compared to a comparable size bottle of other water treatment, but when you look at the cost/gallon, there is no comparison, Prime wins hands down over any of the liquids I looked at and Safe is even more cost effective than Prime. The only negatives about using Safe versus Prime was trying to figure out the dosing and then finding a measure small enough to measure it. Prime came with pretty straight forward instructions. Safe's dosing is based on how much chlorine, chloramine and/or ammonia is in your water. I just treat for an "average" amount of chloramine and that seems to work out pretty well. Seachem's technical support is amazing. If you can't find the answer to your problem in the forums, just write to them and they are extremely responsive. I bought a large size of this product. For some reason, Seachem thinks if you buy the large size you don't need a dosing spoon and doesn't include one. However, I wrote to them and they sent a spoon to me, no charge.I treat for the full tank volume whenever I make a water change. I use one "measure" (the spoon they sent) per 20 gallons.
