Designed with line control in mind, its extended rear taper allows you to cast a mile, mend with authority, and turn over nearly any rig imaginable—from dredging double nymphs to larger dry-dropper concoctions. Steelhead, salmon, and trout won’t know what hit them.

I originally purchased the six-weight version of this line for my six-weight nine-foot fly rod I did not like it and returned it I decided to try the 7 weight line on my 6 weight rod and damn I really really like it.the six weight just felt wimpy the seven weight makes me feel like a pro I can do single hand spay and overhand cast very well it's weak point would have to be the overhead it's not as good as a front loaded line but to be able to cast a second time when the float is 20 feet in front of me is fantastic talk about a perfect mend and drift anyway if you don't like this 6 weight and it feels wimpy do yourself a big favor and get a 7 weight

I mostly use this line for nymphs and soft hackle. I occasionally use it for surface flies, but I'm more of a sub-surface guy. The line works great all around. It's smooth, cuts wind pretty well, casts great, and is high vis. I recommend.

SA claims Anadro (as in anadromous) to be specialized for long-line nymphing on big western rivers and they didn't over promise! This first purchase was 6 weight for trout not steelhead, but it performs splendidly in that role. Easy to cast a mile, even with a weighted, wind resistant sculpin tied on, and easy to mend a 60 foot cast right down to the line-leader junction. It floats higher than any of the dozens of floating lines I've had. The textured surface reduces friction by reducing line-guide contact surface area and I'm convinced this reduces drag, increases line speed and yields longer casts. I also believe the increased line speed along with the tighter loop reduces the effect of wind. The textured surface does not bother my fingers, and I got used to the noise it makes passing through the guides with my previous SA "Sharkskin" line. I'm not sure why SA decided a 3 colored line is necessary but I definitely like the optic green tip section for strike detection and as a visual aid for mending.Anyway, I think the Amplitude Series of lines represents a quantum leap in flyline technology!
